    摘要: Talking video games provide simulated voice dialog between human players and animated characters on a video or television screen. Two or more animated characters perform cooperative actions and talk about what they are doing or will soon do. They talk to each other and to the human players who control directly or indirectly what the characters do and say. Each scene branches to two or more subsequent scenes. But within each scene there are several branching dialog sequences, thereby providing a large variety of possible dialogs. Pictures and voices are generated from digital data read from a laser-readable disk or stored in a semiconductor memory. Each player has a hand-held controller that displays two or more phrases or sentences. A player responds to what an animated character says by pressing a button next to a selected sentence. An animated character then responds verbally or by action to the selected sentence as if it had been spoken by the human player or says the words the player selected. Speech recognition is not required. Human players are thus given an illusion of having voice dialog with interesting characters involved in cooperative activities.

    摘要: An analog color video information signal is sampled at times determined by a first clock signal of a predetermined frequency whose phase is reversed on every consecutive horizontal line. The obtained samples are digitized and encoded for recording on a magnetic record medium, with the encoded data timed relative to a second clock signal of the predetermined frequency whose phase is continuous. The reproduced encoded data is processed under the control of two additional clock signals, each of which is of the predetermined frequency and has its phase reversed on every consecutive horizontal line. In the processing, the reproduced data is decoded, reclocked relative to a first of the two additional clock signals, has the chrominance component of the video information selectively inverted and converted back to analog form under the control of the second of the two additional clock signals.

    摘要: The invention provides a disc device having a disc with a spiral data recording area, a motor for driving the disc, a head for recording data on the disc, reproducing it therefrom and erasing it thereon, a movable mechanism for radially moving the head on the disc, a positioning servo circuit for controlling and driving the movable mechanism, and a microprocessor for controlling the positioning servo circuit. A counter is included in the positioning servo circuit. The counter counts rotation synchronizing clock signals from the motor and outputs a predetermined reference position signal. In accordance with an output signal from the counter, the movable mechanism is driven at the same velocity as that at which the data recording area of the disc is moved in the movement direction of the movable mechanism.
