    摘要: In a color-picture tube, the conductive coating on the inside of the cone is a suspension without organic constituents. The conductive coating on the inside of the neck, which is contiguous to the conductive coating on the inside of the cone, consists of the aforementioned suspension with an addition of organic constituents. A sharp and scratch-resistant boundary between the conductive coating in the neck and the uncoated area of the neck is thus obtained.

The internal resistive coating is made by mixing the insulative particles, a silicate solution and water, milling the mixture, adding electrically conductive particles to the mixture, milling the electrically conductive particles and mixture to provide a suspension, preparing a stock solution of wetting agent of the anionic class, and stirring the wetting agent stock solution into the suspension to provide a wall dispersed resistive coating suspension.

    摘要: A device for coating, with a carbon material, the inner surface of a cathode ray tube having a neck and flared or cone end portion which is opened at its end remote from the neck along a free peripheral edge portion to which the front panel of the completed cathode ray tube is later secured. The device includes a frame on which a turntable is rotatably mounted and supports, for rotation therewith, a seal assembly for selectively forming a seal on the inner surface of the flared portion of the cathode ray tube adjacent the free edge thereof. The tube is supported on the turntable adjacent the seal assembly along its peripheral edge, and the assembly includes an expandable seal strip generally complementary to the internal configuration of the tube along which the seal is to be formed, so that upon expansion of the seal strip a tight seal is formed against the tube. The device includes a coating mechanism, as for example spray nozzles for coating the inner surface of the tube after the seal is formed, whereby the seal prevents the sealed or masked portion of the tube from being coated with the coating material.

    摘要: Apparatus for applying Aquadag coating to the funnel of a cathode ray tube envelope comprises means for supporting the envelope with the sealing land exposed, and means for spraying an Aquadag solution upon the wall of the funnel. A deflector is interposed between the spray means and the edge of the funnel to intercept that portion of the spray directed toward that edge while another member is positioned adjacent the inside wall of the funnel to establish an orifice between that member and that portion of the funnel wall normal to the sealing land. The envelope supporting means is rotated, relative to the spray means, to apply a uniform coat of Aquadag upon the funnel while an air pump establishes a pressure differential between the inside of the envelope and the outside to generate a flow of air across the sealing land of the funnel, up through the orifice and into the funnel to prevent deposit of coating material upon the sealing land.
