    摘要: A skiving tool comprising a cutter head (2) having a plurality of cutter blade mounting and positioning slots (8) arranged spaced, preferably equidistant, about the periphery (7) of the cutter head with the blade slots, and hence the cutting blades (4), preferably oriented perpendicular to the axis of rotation (A) of the cutter head. Alternatively, the blade slots may be inclined from the perpendicular orientation by less than 50 degrees, preferably less than 20 degrees, thereby forming a conical shaped cutter. Additionally, the blade slots may be positioned to extend radially from the cutter head axis whereby the longitudinal axis of a cutter blade will intersect the cutter head axis, or the blade slots may be radially offset from the cutter head axis. The blade slots may have any cross-sectional shape such as square, rectangular or those types having generally V-shaped seating surfaces (10) comprising a pair of angled mounting surfaces (12, 14) each less than 90 degrees. In contrast to known cutting blade configurations, the cutting blade (4) of the present invention has its cutting face (16) formed in a surface of the cutting blade that is located opposite to the seating surface or V-shaped seating surfaces (13, 15) of the cutting blade.

    摘要: In a method and a bar blade for milling spiral bevel gears and hypoid gears, a shaft of the bar blade has a blade profile that is formed by the cross-section of at least one cutting area, at least two free areas, and at least one top area. The blade profile is provided with a first cutting edge for a first flank, a second cutting edge for a second flank that faces the first flank, and a top cutting edge for the bottom of a tooth space. The first and the second cutting edge are embodied as principal cutting edges for completely cutting the first or second flank. The top cutting edge is configured for completely cutting the bottom of the tooth space such that the tooth space comprising the complete final geometry is created in one milling process by means of one and the same bar blade.

    摘要: A method includes selecting a first gear ratio and a second gear ratio. A first hypoid gear set defines the first gear ratio and a second hypoid gear set defines the second gear ratio. The second gear set includes a second ring gear that is formed with at least one second inside blade and at least one second outside blade coupled to a second gear cutter. The method also includes identifying parameters of the first inside blade and the second inside blade, commonizing at least a portion of the respective identified parameters and forming at least one of a common inside blade and a common outside blade for forming a first modified ring gear and a second modified ring gear.
