    摘要: An automotive driveline disconnect assembly includes a first clutch part and a second clutch part, and is designed and constructed to preclude an occupant-audible noise from being made between components of the disconnect assembly. The preclusion of the occupant-audible noise can be effected via one or more dampers, a non-flat tooth profile, or a combination of these measures. The disconnect assembly can be equipped in a larger automotive driveline component such as a power transfer unit (PTU), a final drive unit (FDU), a rear drive module (RDM), or an electronic differential locker (EDL).

The curvic coupling includes: plural teeth arranged in a circle and protruding from a circle plane extending in a radial direction and a circumferential direction, wherein a side surface of a tooth of the plural teeth is opposite to a side surface of another tooth of the plural teeth, and wherein the tooth is adjacent to the other tooth and is separated from the other tooth by a separating surface. The separating surface includes a flat surface lying in the circle plane, wherein the separating surface includes a central protrusion between the side surface of the tooth and the side surface of the other tooth, and wherein the protrusion protrudes from the circle plane.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a unique gear set including a conical involute pinion and a mating face gear. The mating face gear has an axis whose location and orientation is usually configured, as intersecting with or slightly offset from the pinion axis. The pinion teeth are formed as involute helicoids generated from a base cylinder. The mating face gear teeth are defined by the shape of the mating conical pinion teeth surface at that time when the two mating gears are specifically positioned so as to perform synchronous rotations about their respective axes of rotation. This arrangement allows the gears to mesh and transmit high torque at high speeds through an angle as required in helicopter transmissions and the like.

    摘要: A tool for manufacturing crown wheels by means of a machining hobbing process, which consists of a disc which can rotate about its axis and on the circumference of which machining elements are disposed whose cutting edges lie in the surface of a profile which mainly extends over the circumference of the disc as helical ribs. In each cross-sectional plane perpendicular to the screw direction of the ribs, the profile has the shape of a number of profile teeth situated next to one another. The profile shape is based on the base geometry of a pinion which is characteristic for the crown wheel to be manufactured and has involute toothing. The profile has such a shape that a part thereof lies outside the surface of revolution which is formed by rotation of the addendum circle of the characteristic pinion about the rotational axis of the tool. As a result, the tool has machining elements or machining element parts whose cutting edges lie in the surface of the portion of the profile outside the surface of revolution formed by rotation of the addendum circle and can serve for performing a premachining operation when manufacturing a crown wheel.

    摘要: A rotary indexing table having a generally circular top plate rotatably secured to a fixed base structure is disclosed. An outer race annular ring is connected to the top of the fixed base structure and extends radially over a central bore formed in the top face of the fixed based structure. A first ring of teeth is formed on the circular top plate. A second ring of teeth is formed on the outer race annular ring. Both the first and second rings of teeth face toward the central bore in the fixed base structure. A piston is slidably mounted in the central bore. The piston has a third ring of teeth aligned with the first ring of teeth and a fourth ring of teeth aligned with the second ring of teeth. A method of forming the third and fourth rings of teeth on the piston is also disclosed. The method includes mounting a sine block on a work table. Then fastening a rotary indexing table on the top of the sine block. Next, securing the piston to the top of the rotary indexing table. Then, setting a first predetermined angle on the sine block to fix a first coning angle from the central axis of the piston. This is followed by cutting one ring of concentric teeth on the piston. Then, adjusting the sine block to a second predetermined angle to fix a second coning angle from the central axis of the piston. Finally, cutting the other ring of concentric teeth on the piston.
