Abstract:
A system and method for manufacturing low and non-fat sour cream products is provided. The system may utilize a separation technique to separate liquid whey in cultured milk or fat free milk from the solid matter resulting in light or fat free sour cream. The resulting sour cream has the consistency of sour cream without utilizing additional thickening and emulsifying ingredients. The separation can be accomplished with a plurality of separation techniques including centrifuge, reverse osmosis, ceramic centrifuge and the like.
Abstract:
A regenerated tobacco material is manufactured through extracting a natural tobacco material with an extracting solvent to obtain an extracted solution containing components of the natural tobacco material and an extraction residue. A regenerated tobacco web is prepared by using the extraction residue. On the other hand, the extracted solution is subjected to a fractionating treatment by means of ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis filtration, or reversed-phase partition chromatography to obtain a first fraction enriched in desired components and depleted in undesired components, and a second fraction enriched in the undesired components and depleted in the desired components. The first fraction is added, optionally together with the second fraction decreased in amount, to the regenerated tobacco web to prepare a regenerated tobacco material.
Abstract:
A modular food dehydrator utilizing a heater blower assembly located on a top surface of a dehydrator module. The heater blower assembly includes a motor driven fan, a heating element and an air distribution portion for directing heated air across the support surfaces. The heater blower assembly is preferably releasably attachable to the dehydrator module. In a first embodiment, the dehydrator module has a central opening extending generally vertically through the support surfaces in fluid communication with the heater blower assembly for directing heated air radially outward across the plurality of support surfaces. The dehydrator module preferably includes outlet vents on an outer perimeter surface for exhausting the heated air. At least one outlet vent is preferably located between each of the plurality of support surfaces. In a second embodiment, the dehydrator module includes air ducts on an outer perimeter surface in fluid communication with the heater blower assembly for directing pressurized, heated air radially inward across the plurality of support surfaces. The dehydrator module includes a central opening extending generally vertically through the support surfaces in fluid communication with a space between each the support surfaces for exhausting or recirculating heated air.
Abstract:
The curd ripening apparatus comprises two perforated, semicylindrical baskets (12, 30), rotatably supported on a common horizontal axis, one within the other. Curds are poured into the inside basket, and the outside basket is then rotated of 180.degree. with respect to the other and is latched with latching means (26, 28, 40) to make it integral with the other basket (12, 24) in an angular position opposite to it, so that a closed barrel is formed. One or two motors (36, 38; 136, 138) can rotate both baskets together, so that the curds are rolled until ripe. The inside basket is preferably provided with internal, parallel, transverse blades (42).
Abstract:
An apparatus for producing whipped cream includes a pressureless reservoir for receiving the cream, a pump driven by means of a motor, an intake line connecting the pressureless reservoir to the pump, and a pressure line leading from the pump to a homogenizer including an outlet nozzle. The intake line is connected to an air intake duct and operation of the motor is started by means of the switch. A relieving line leading to the reservoir is connected to the pressure line. A valve is provided in the relieving line. The valve is in operative connection with the switch in such a way that the valve is closed when the pump is running and the valve is open when the pump is stopped.
Abstract:
The machine includes a motor-driven pump having an inlet operatively connected both to an air intake and to an unpressurized liquid product container, whereby the liquid product and air are simultaneously drawn into the pump. An adjustable needle valve assembly is provided at the air intake to control flow of air into a chamber which has a check valve at its outlet. The assembly includes a two-piece plug which has an air filter positioned between the two pieces. The pump outlet is connected to a static, narrow-orifice homogenizer which emulsifies the liquid and air mixture. A solenoid-operated valve is located at the outlet of the homogenizer and an electrical control system simultaneously opens the valve and starts the motor.
Abstract:
Liquid cream and air are drawn from and pumped under a strong pressure by a gear pump as a rough mixture through an open ended emulsifying homogenizer where the mixture is subjected to subsequent squeezings, fractionings, and expansions until said mixture, at the outlet of the homogenizer, has become soft and fluffy, like a conventional whipped cream.
