摘要: Apparatus and systems are disclosed for improved set-up of multi-ingredient compounders. An improved apparatus includes a manifold and a plurality of valve members disposed for movement relative to different corresponding ones of a plurality of inlet ports of the manifold. The valve members are moveable to open and close a corresponding fluid passageway between the corresponding inlet port and an internal passageway of the manifold. A plurality of caps are locatable on different corresponding ones of the inlet ports, with each of the caps being engageable with the corresponding valve member for co-movement from a locked position at which the cap is restricted from removal to an unlocked position at which the cap is removable, e.g. by manual, axial retraction of the cap. An improved system includes a compounder controller operable to control valve actuators of the compounder so as to sequentially move the valve members and corresponding caps from locked to unlocked positions in a predetermined sequence, thereby reducing the potential for undesired cross-connections.

摘要: A system and method for injecting slurry includes first and second elongated tanks. Tanks include pipes extending therefrom. Slurry valves and clear fluid valves are fluidically are coupled the first and second elongated tanks. Slurry valves have a first state communicating high pressure slurry from a second volume of the first tank to the injection site and communicating low pressure slurry to a fourth volume of the second tank, and a second state communicating low pressure slurry to the second volume and high pressure slurry from the fourth volume to the injection site. The clear fluid valves communicate pressurized clear fluid to the first volume of the first tank and communicate low pressure clear fluid from the third volume of the second tank in a first state and communicating low pressure clear fluid to the first volume and pressurized clear fluid to the third volume in a second state.

摘要: An exemplary manifold for a pharmaceutical ingredient compounding device can include a housing, at least one primary intake port including a primary valve to permit or block passage of at least one primary ingredient through the manifold, and a plurality of secondary intake ports. A first channel can be in fluid communication with the at least one primary valve and include an outlet port configured to outlet the at least one primary ingredient from the manifold. A second channel can be in fluid communication with a plurality of secondary valves and include an outlet port configured to outlet at least one of a plurality of secondary ingredients from the manifold. The first channel and second channel can be in fluid isolation from each other such that the at least one primary ingredient does not mix with the plurality of secondary ingredients within the manifold.

摘要: There is provided a gas mixer arrangement comprising a first gas source for supplying a first gas; a second gas source for supplying a second gas different from said first gas; first and second flow regulation devices for regulating the respective flow of the first gas and second gases from the first and second gas sources; a mixer; and an outlet. The mixer is located downstream of the first and second flow regulation devices and arranged, in use, to mix the first and second gases to provide a mixed gas to the outlet. The gas mixer arrangement further comprises a meter comprising a first sensor assembly operable to determine the average molecular weight of the mixed gas and including a high-frequency planar piezoelectric crystal oscillator in contact with the mixed gas, a second sensor assembly operable to determine the pressure of the gas downstream of one of the first or second flow regulation devices, and a controller operable, in response to the average molecular weight of the mixed gas and said gas pressure, to control automatically said first and second flow regulation devices to control the relative proportion of the first and second gases in said mixed gas and the pressure or mass flow rate of the mixed gas from the outlet.

摘要: A fuel additive cartridge for use with a dimethyl-ether fuel system of a vehicle includes a reservoir for storing and dispensing a liquid fuel additive into a flow of fuel in a fill conduit during refueling. The cartridge also includes a dispenser actuated by the fuel flow to selectively dispense the liquid fuel additive from the reservoir. The fuel additive cartridge is intended to attach to a dimethyl-ether fuel system at a location between a fueling inlet connector and a storage tank to facilitate a metered mixing of liquid fuel additive from the cartridge and dimethyl-ether during the re-fueling of the storage tank.

摘要: A bathwater circulating system has a pump operable to draw fluid in at an intake port and expel it under pressure at an output port. Water- and air-supply conduits feed water and air to the intake port at a rate determined by a flow-restricting air-intake valve so that the pump mixes the water and the air, pressurizes the mixture and thereby dissolves the air in the water, and expels the air/water mixture at the output port. A pressure-reducing valve is connected by an output conduit that extends from the output port to the pressure relief valve and conducts the water/air-bubble mixture from the pump to the pressure-reducing valve without separation of the air from the water and such that the mixture is at least partially depressurized at the pressure-reducing valve such that the air forms microbubbles in the water.

摘要: A system and method that automatically transfer liquid manure from an intermediate holding receptacle to a lagoon involves a common pump for both agitating the liquid manure in and pumping the liquid manure from the receptacle. A pump motor, first valve, second valve and directable agitation nozzle of the pump are controlled by an electronic controller. The electronic controller switches on the pump motor, ensures that the first valve is closed and ensures that the second valve is open when the receptacle is full, directs the nozzle to at least two different locations in the receptacle to permit liquid manure to be redirected to the at least two different locations to agitate the liquid manure for a predetermined period of time, and opens the first valve after the predetermined period of time to permit pumping of the liquid manure from the receptacle to the lagoon. The system and method reduce equipment cost, equipment maintenance and the amount of operator time required to perform liquid manure transfer, while providing better agitation and more complete emptying of the receptacle in a shorter period of time.
