摘要： A plurality of two-piece fasteners are connected together by frangible plastic and are automatically fed past moveable wall portions to an area where they are in operative position to be acted upon by impacting pistons. A first inner and a second, outer, concentric pistons are provided, the second piston driving the outer component of the two-piece fastener through metal sheets to be connected together, and the first piston driving the inner fastener component. A common actuating piston may be provided for driving the first and second pistons, with the magazine for the fasteners connected up to the low pressure side of the common piston. It is not possible to fire the impacting device until a handle thereof has been rotated against spring pressure and the bottom thereof is in contact with the work.

摘要： A pull-type fastener setting tool is provided comprising a pistol-shaped housing having an abutment on a barrel portion for engagement with one part of a fastener and which also includes a hand-grip portion, a pulling device slidable in the housing and engageable with a pulling stem of the fastener, a rotatable handle mounted on the housing, and actuating means including a plate cam arranged to be rotated by means of the handle. The actuating means also includes a cam follower mounted on an arm pivoted on the pulling device, the arm being connected by a link which is pivoted at one end to the arm and at the other end to the housing at a remote part of the hand-grip portion. The cam follower is capable of reciprocating along an arc of large radius in response to turning of the handle without moving significantly out of alignment with the pulling device.

The shift valve employes a ballseat relief valve associated with pressure responsive plunger mechanism and spring responsive ball guide mechanism which respond to pressure differentials to directly monitor pressure in the trapped oil circuit and restrain "shift piston" motion prior to shift. Premature "shift piston" travel, which is a malfunction, is eliminated.

摘要： A pull-to-set mandrel riveting tool is provided with mandrel-pulling jaws releasable from mandrel gripping relation, and a pivoted nosepiece assembly including openable rivet abutting means is thereupon movable to carry the mandrel to an out-of-the-way position wherein a rivet to be set can be loaded on the stem of the reusable mandrel. The tool is preferably operable by fluid pressure means, and a stop means is provided for insuring proper longitudinal re-positioning of the mandrel relative to mandrel pulling means. The construction facilitates manual or automatic loading of successive rivets on the mandrel.

摘要： An anvil for a blind riveting tool for locking the plugs of self-plugging blind rivets. The anvil has a central aperture (11), an annular abutment face (13) peripherally of the aperture (11) and a rim (14) radially inwardly of the abutment face (13) and peripherally of the aperture (11). The rim (14) projects forwardly of the abutment face (13) and has a forward end face (16) which is inclined rearwardly and outwardly and provided with generally concave recesses (15) which extend radially across the end face (16) and divide it into a plurality of lands (20) which during placing of a rivet operate to swage part of the mandrel of the rivet into locking engagement with the shell of the rivet.

摘要： A magazine for use in continuously feeding blind rivets into a riveting tool comprising a first elongate paper sheet positioned in a substantially planar configuration and a second elongate paper sheet formed into a plurality of parallel, generally semi-cylindrical lobes spaced by planar sections, the planar sections of the second sheet being connected to one side of the first sheet, the lobes of the second sheet and the enclosing portions of the first sheet defining a plurality of spaced openings for snugly receiving the mandrels of the rivets. The length of at least some of the planar sections of the second sheet are of a size suitable for loosely receiving sheared mandrels between the lobes on opposite sides thereof for conducting such sheared mandrels through the riveting tool. The first and second sheets have a plurality of spaced holes therein for use in advancing the magazine through the riveting tool.
