    摘要: A pulling head includes a sleeve which threadably engages a sleeve adapter. A collet is threadably engaged with a drawbar adapter, and the collet and drawbar adapter are disposed and slidable in the sleeve. A set of jaws is disposed in the collet, and a jaw follower is disposed in the collet and contacts the jaws. A spring retainer is disposed in the collet, and engages two springs. Specifically, a first spring is disposed between the drawbar adapter and the spring retainer, and a second spring is disposed between the spring retainer and the jaw follower. The first spring has a higher rating than does the second spring. While the first spring is configured to accommodate inertia loading, the second spring is configured to urge the jaws closed yet be relatively easily overcome by the insertion of mandrels of different diameters.

    摘要: A setting apparatus 1 for setting a blind nut or the like to a workpiece, comprises a mandrel 7, a hydraulic cylinder 17 receiving therein a hydraulic piston 15 for axially pulling the mandrel 7, an oil reservoir 22 for containing oil to be supplied to the hydraulic cylinder 17, and an air cylinder 27 for receiving therein an air piston 26 connected to a ram 25 adapted to be reciprocatingly advanced and retracted in the oil reservoir 22. In response to the compressed air supplied to the air cylinder, the hydraulic piston 15 is moved to pull the mandrel 7, whereby a fastener threadedly connected with the mandrel is set to a workpiece. The setting apparatus 1 also includes an air-pressure setting valve 33 for adjustably presetting the air pressure of the compressed air to be supplied to the air cylinder 27. When the air pressure in said air cylinder reaches the preset air pressure level, the air-pressure setting valve 33 is operated to feed the compressed air from the air cylinder to completion valve activation assembly 13 so that a completion valve 11 is activated to stop the movement of the air piston 26 to prevent the mandrel 7 from being pulled.

The rotatable head comprises a clutch having a body enclosing a plurality of bearings circumferentially located around the shank, for gripping the shank. The clutch is formed with a plurality of tapered channels for urging the bearings into engagement with the shank upon rotation of the clutch.

    摘要: A blind rivet set verification system for setting a blind rivet assessing the acceptability of the rivet set. The system includes a remote intensified rivet setting tool and computer hardware and software. The tool comprises a displacement transducer that produces a displacement signal and a pressure transducer that produces a pressure signal. The transducers are connected to the computer which receives the distinct signals. These signals are interpreted to plot a displacement-versus pressure waveform and to determine the velocity of the movement of an air piston that responds to the rivet set by hydraulic pressure. Using the combined date of the velocity waveform and the displacement-versus pressure waveform, the breakload is identified and compared against predetermined ideal data to assess the acceptability of the set. The displacement reading at break is corrected for jaw slippage and offset of the air piston.

    摘要: Although the conventional continuous riveting machine was able to use exclusively a special blind rivet having a longer core-stem than that of the standard type, the continuous riveting machine according to the present invention is able to use the standard blind rivet and also able to recover separately torn core rivet stems and a blind rivet-holding belt made of plastic material enabling the supply of blind rivets in series. When a lower piston 600 descends in a jaw cylinder 400, a nose piece 620 integrated in one piece with the lower piston 600 also descends while bending downwardly plastic upper and lower tabs of the blind rivet-holding belt, and holding the blind rivet. Torn-core-stems are absorbed and stored in a torn core rivet stems storing case installed on the upper portion of the jaw cylinder by applying vacuum air absorbing force generated in a vacuum ejector.

    摘要: A riveting tool includes a tool body having a hydraulic controlled rivet shank clamping assembly and a rivet suction system. A control valve is provided for directing a flow of pressurized air to the rivet clamping assembly and the rivet suction system. The control valve includes a valve rod having a valve rod piston on an upper end and a plurality of radial steps arranged on an outer surface of a lower end. A trigger is mounted slidably in a trigger transverse guide in the tool body and a spring is located within the trigger transverse guide such that pressure applied to the trigger causes the valve rod to move within the control valve from a first to a second position. When the valve rod is in the first position, pressurized air is guided to the rivet suction system. When the valve rod is in the second position, pressurized air is guided to a space below a pneumatic piston. A space above the pneumatic piston is connected to the hydraulic cylinder of the hydraulic controlled rivet shank clamping assembly.
