Abstract: A method and system for edge-forming cellulose products from an air-formed cellulose blank structure. The system comprises a first mould part having an edge-forming device with a protruding element configured for compacting and separating fibres of the cellulose blank structure and a second mould part arranged for cooperating with each other. The edge-forming device is movably arranged in relation to a base structure of the first mould part, and is adapted for interacting with a pressure member arranged in the base structure. The method includes the steps: providing the air-formed cellulose blank structure, and forming a compacted edge structure of the cellulose products by separating fibres of the cellulose blank structure with the protruding element, applying an edge-forming temperature, and compacting the cellulose blank structure by applying an edge-forming pressure onto the cellulose blank structure between the protruding element and the second mould part.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for producing hangers and similar devices. In some examples, a method includes wetting a flat layer of paper material to increase humidity percentage at room temperature; leaving said layer of paper material to rest for a predetermined period of time; cutting said flat layer of paper material to define an appropriate shape for the hanger; carrying out a knurling operation on at least one portion of the flat layer of paper material so that at least one concave area is realized; forming the flat layer of paper material by introducing the flat layer of paper material between a mould and a counter-mould and subsequently through pressing; and carrying out a stabilisation operation of the hanger to reduce the humidity percentage.

Abstract: A machine for producing paper cutlery includes a paper feeding station; a processing station arranged to die-cut one or more sheets of paper arriving from the paper feeding station into uncoated cutlery; and a removal station that separates the uncoated cutlery from the sheets of paper. A recycling station extracts residual scrap paper generated by the processing station. The residual scrap paper was formed from the sheets of paper after the uncoated cutlery is cut and formed. The machine further includes a treatment station arranged to apply a viscous liquid material based on silicon and hydroxy groups to the uncoated cutlery to evenly coat the uncoated cutlery. The viscous liquid material is applied following removal of the residual scrap paper at the recycling station. An oven is provided to dry and crystallize the viscous liquid material on the uncoated cutlery to produce a plurality of coated cutlery.

Abstract: Structures including a curved corrugated wall fabricated from a plurality of layers formed of one or more shaped strips and methods of forming the structures are described. A shaped strip used in the fabrication includes a variable profile across the width of the strip with a first edge of a strip defining a series of cell profiles of a first geometric shape and a second, opposite edge of the strip defining a series of cell profiles of a second, different geometric shape, with each cell transitioning from the first profile to the second profile across the width of the strip. The geometry of the cell profiles at either end of each cell can be designed with respect to one another to allow for radial orientation of the strip about an axis with little or no deformation or stress on the strip edges.

In one or more embodiments, a method for producing pressware can include producing a pressware product between an upper forming die and a lower forming die contained within a forming die assembly, retracting at least a portion of the upper forming die from the pressware product, and ejecting the pressware product from the lower forming die while feeding a web material between the upper forming die and the lower forming die.
