    摘要: A self initiated prone progressive crawler facilitates crawling in infants by sensing the infant's intent and assisting movement. The device is designed as a mobility aid to assist an infant in prone locomotion. The infant can be placed in a prone position on a platform and secured with hook and loop straps. The arms and legs are unconstrained and are able to reach the floor comfortably. The self initiated prone progressive crawler is a motorized wheeled platform which has three points of contact with the ground. One point is an industrial trackball, mounted upside down to provide positional and positional derivative data to a controller. It is located roughly under the chest of the infant and is highly sensitive to movement. The other points of contact are two DC torque motors which are controlled by the controller. In addition to the positional and positional derivative data provided to the controller, the controller also receives data from four equally spaced load cells on a force plate and tn-axial accelerometer gyros attached to the upper and lower extremities of the child. The load cells provide force information between the infant and the device to allow weight shifts to be assessed and used as a control parameter. The accelerometer gyros generate data that provides patterns that can be correlated with crawling movements.

    摘要: A D.C. series motor for mining and other equipment is powered by batteries which are connected in parallel for low voltage acceleration and in series for high voltage normal running speed. The motor controller includes a relay switch for connecting the batteries in series circuit without opening the parallel battery connections, and uni-directional conductors which prevent short circuiting in the parallel battery circuit legs when the series connection is completed. Forward and reverse circuits for reversing current flow through the motor armature each include normally open relay contacts on opposite sides of the armature. The motor is energized by actuation of a foot controlled sequential switch which first energizes a normally neutral position directional switch and directs current to either a forward direction relay or to a reverse direction relay depending upon the selection of the operator. Energization of the forward or reverse relays closes the relay contacts in the forward or reverse motor circuit respectively. The motor is then energized by the batteries connected in parallel. Further depression of the foot switch energizes a time delay circuit including a relay which is energized after a time delay to connect the batteries in series and thus to supply high voltage to the motor for normal running speed. The time delay circuit includes a pair of parallel connected time delay switches, each having its energizing element in a different one of the forward and reverse relay circuits. One of the time delay switches thus begins timing as soon as one of the forward and reverse relay circuits is energized.

    摘要: An electric vehicle drive is provided utilizing field control of a direct current drive motor in conjunction with a torque converter to vary the speed of the electric vehicle. Control of the shunt field of the direct current drive motor is used to vary the speed of the drive motor and hence the vehicle between some maximum speed and a predetermined minimum base speed. A torque converter is used in conjunction with the field controlled motor to control electric vehicle speeds from a dead stop to the predetermined base speed, while the direct current drive motor is operated at approximately the base speed.

    摘要: A DC motor circuit powered by two banks of automobile storage batteries includes an armature, a pair of field windings which are essentially connected in parallel with each other and in series with the armature of the motor, an excitation circuit coupled to the pair of field windings for establishing a potential thereacross and having its own DC power source, a switch for operating the DC motor in either the forward or reverse direction and circuit means including a full wave rectifier bridge for recharging the two banks of batteries. The circuit may also include means for switching from a parallel connection of the banks of storage batteries wherein maximum current is available for starting and low speed operation, to a series connection for full voltage high speed operation. With the circuit of this invention greater efficiency of the motor is obtained primarily by means of the field excitation circuit, and where limited operating range is acceptable the circuitry enables a vehicle to be powered by readily available automotive batteries and still have exceptionally good performance.

An electrical storage member stores energy, the magnitude of which is directly related to the motor operating speed at any given instant. When the pedal is fully depressed for maximum traction the storage member operates to delay the energization of a programmed unijunction device at a rate which is inversely proportional to control parameters of the motor so as to provide a substantially gradual transition to the condition of maximum traction.
