摘要： Bleed-fast, dyed cellulosics particularly absorbent papers have been obtained with a particular class of water-soluble, cationic dyes reacted with a water-soluble dialdehyde, preferably glyoxal or glutaraldehyde. An aqueous printing fluid containing the water-soluble cationic dye and the dialdehyde, upon drying, produces a water-resistant dyestuff having improved bleed fastness upon cellulosic fibers.

The preparations are useful for dyeing polyacrylonitrile, acrylonitrile copolymer, polyester and polypropylene fibres.

C.), and C) between about 20 and about 40 wt % of a non-ionic surfactant, the weight percentages being based on total weight of A), B), and C). The composition is prepared by dissolving the nigrosine A) in a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkanol to form an alcohol solution, mixing the alcohol solution with the solvent B) and non-ionic surfactant C, and subsequently stripping the C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkanol.
