    摘要： A pipe perforating machine consisting of a bed adapted to support a pipe for movement longitudinally of itself, powered mechanism for driving the pipe in both directions, and a plurality of cooperating pairs of perforating elements carried in spatially fixed relation by the bed and operable to perforate the pipe as it is moved in either direction. At least several parallel rows of perforations may be cut on each pass of the pipe, and the pipe may be angularly indexed after each pass for cutting several additional rows of perforations during the next subsequent pass of the pipe in the opposite direction.

    摘要： A punch drive converts rotary motion from a power source in one embodiment into one-speed reciprocation or in another embodiment into selective two-speed reciprocation of a punch. In the latter embodiment the slower speed of reciprocation is provided by rolling a plurality of primary thrust balls between a rotating gear and a reciprocating primary wave thrust ring. The wave thrust ring has three cam waves which cause the thrust ring to be reciprocated downwardly as the balls roll thereover. The thrust ring is coupled through a clutch mechanism to the punch. The second speed is provided by a rotatable nibbling drive collar and a reciprocating nibbling wave thrust ring having a plurality of nibbling thrust balls therebetween. The nibbling wave thrust ring is provided with nine cam waves which cause reciprocation of the nibbling wave thrust ring as the thrust balls are rolled thereover. The nibbling wave thrust ring is also coupled to the punch. The rate of downward movement of the thrust rings is determined by the slope angles of the forward surfaces of the cam waves.

    摘要： A rotary anvil construction is provided which comprises a cylindrical anvil and a die-cutting mat attached in position thereagainst with the mat being made of a compressible resilient elastomeric material and having opposite end portions provided with a pair of identical locking flanges which extend within a groove in the anvil wherein the groove is comprised of a pair of spaced holding surfaces. A wedge is provided between the flanges and serves to urge the flanges tightly against the holding surfaces and thereby tighten and lock the mat against the anvil while simultaneously moving associated outer edges of the mat firmly against each other to provide a single line contact therebetween.

    摘要： An adjustable drive for a pair of rolls which allows for adjustment of the rolls relative to each other and for backlash take-up in the train of gears driving the rolls. A shaft extension on each roll has a roll gear fixed thereon. The shaft extensions of the rolls turn in bushings. The bushings of one shaft extension are fitted in the overlapped ends of adjusting forks and the bushings of the other shaft extension are fitted in the overlapped ends of horizontal links. Three alignment idler gears and a drive gear mesh with the roll gears. The drive gear and the adjacent alignment gear mesh with each other, and each pair of said gears is connected with vertical links. The drive gear and one of the alignment gears are carried by said forks and the other two alignment gears are carried by said horizontal links. The upper roll is adjustable relative to the lower roll and the outer ends of the forks are adjustable vertically by fork adjusting screws.
