    摘要: A dental technician's work station is provided with a hand-held machining device and a suction device for removal of dust resulting from machining. Connection of the machining device to the suction device by a common data bus is provided, and the parameters corresponding to the machining device are input and used to control both the hand-held machining device and the suction device. The suction device is thus always adjusted automatically to match the respective handling step using a specific machining bit. An especially fast and certain adjustment of the machining unit and/or the suction device by means of selector keys is effected, these keys having respective symbols for the particular machining bits utilized. The speed of the matching unit and, in an especially advantageous embodiment, the suction device as well, are thus adjusted correctly and simultaneously with a single key stroke.

Code elements are provided on the members in a binary code pattern specific for each member. Sensors on the tool read the code pattern on the member connected to the tool and serve it electrically to a decoding unit which transforms the read binary pattern to signals adapted to control the inverter the way the member demands.

    摘要: To provide for, selectively, control of the speed of a tool, such as a drill or boring tool coupled to an electric drill or boring machine motor, independently of the setting of a multi-speed transmission, speed of the tool is sensed by a contactless transducer (4, 7), one part of which is coupled to the chuck (1, 2) and the other to the housing (H) of the tool, to provide speed signals which incorporate the transmission ratio of the gear (G, 66). Speed control, for example under a command signal (40; 50), then will control the actual speed, regardless of the transmission setting, with the torque deliverable by the motor being controlled by the selected gear. The diameter of the drill or other tool bit is sensed also by the transducer, if coupled to the chuck jaws, to vary the output signal from the transducer as a function of chuck jaw diameter. The output signal can be selectively analyzed for frequency in a frequency evaluation stage (35), and for amplitude in an amplitude evaluation stage (34), the speed and chuck jaw spacing signals can be separated (FIG. 8) from a combined speed - chuck jaw spacing signal obtained, to provide for control of the motor as a function of material being worked on (40; A-D), of accessories (40) to associate output speed with materials and drill diameter in accordance with selected functions, or only of speed, for example for operating accessories such as screwdrivers, sanding disks, or the like.

    摘要: An improved servo system and method in an EDM machine for controlling the relative electrode displacement or the gap spacing between a tool electrode and a workpiece, wherein the electrodes are brought to a machining position to permit a succession of electrical discharges to be developed therebetween across the machining gap. A counter is used to count the number of machining pulses and, when the number reaches a value preset in conjunction with the machining area defined by the confronting electrodes, to provide an "advance" or "advance-enabling" signal. Only upon development of this signal or concurrent development of it and a usual servo "advance" signal from a gap sensor/servo signal generator responsive to a gap variable, e.g. gap voltage, a servo drive circuit acting on a motor or actuator for driving the movable electrode is actuated to allow the electrode to be advanced or stepped forward to a next machining position. The preset level of the discharge counter is varied from one value to another in response to a change in the machining area, setting or gap condition during the course of the machining operation.

A control device for a machine tool includes: an oscillating operation execution determination unit that determines whether to execute an oscillating operation that causes the cutting tool to oscillate in the radial direction of the workpiece; an oscillation command generation unit that generates an oscillation command of the oscillating operation based on a determination result; a control unit that superimposes the oscillation command on a position command of the feed axis to generate a drive command. The oscillating operation execution determination unit determines to intermittently execute the oscillating operation, and the oscillation command generation unit generates an oscillation command so that a non-oscillating cutting portion of a present pass includes a portion at which oscillating cutting was performed in a previous pass, or so that an oscillating cutting portion of the present pass includes a portion at which non-oscillating cutting was performed in the previous pass.
