    摘要: An installation for coating objects, in particular vehicle wheels, has a dipping trough which is filled with a coating liquid into which the objects can be dipped. In order to reduce the complexity of the piping, there is provided a combined recirculation and filtration circuit for recirculating and filtering the coating liquid, wherein the recirculation and filtration circuit includes a pump, at least one recirculation outlet, arranged in the dipping trough, for the coating liquid, and a filtration device having a residue connection and a filtrate connection, wherein the residue connection is connected to the at least one recirculation outlet in the dipping trough.

    摘要: An improved and substantially contamination free electro-immersion finish is provided on an electrically conductive substrate such as a motor vehicle body. An immersion tank holds an aqueous liquid containing an electrophoretically precipitable resin. The substrate to be coated is immersed in the liquid and transported through the tank. The bath liquid in the lower region of the tank is circulated parallel to the direction of transport of the substrate. The bath liquid in the upper region is circulated opposite to the direction of transport of the substrate. The bath liquid may be recirculated by removing the liquid from the tank at the end of the tank where the substrate is removed from the tank. The bath liquid may be purified by filter units prior to being returned to the tank. A separator, such as a cyclone separator, may be disposed in the liquid recirculation conduit ahead of the filtration units.

    摘要: A process and apparatus for the recovery of suspended solids from a liquid medium is disclosed. The liquid medium containing suspended solids is circulated through an electrolytic cell and an ultrafiltration unit, the suspended solids being removed from the liquid medium as a uniform particulate mass of low liquid content while a proportionate amount of the liquid and dissolved components such as surfactants is removed through ultrafiltration to avoid a dilution of the liquid medium in a continuous process. The recovered solids, following evaporation of a small amount of remaining liquid, offers a more uniform particle size as well as substantially lower recovery costs when compared with conventional techniques, such as spray-drying, now used in the industry. The disclosed electrolytic-ultrafiltration process offers application to the treatment of industrial products and wastes (polymeric, e.g., PVC and PVC copolymers, rubber, paint, cellulose, paper sludge, food, etc.) and the recovery or concentrating of valuable materials from naturally occuring sources, e.g., whey protein.

    摘要: A continuous method is provided for making polyimide coated conductors, such as wire and metal foil, by continuously passing the conductor into an aqueous plural solvent polyamide acid salt electrocoating bath. Electrodeposition can be effected of polyamide acid having sufficient organic solvent to produce a satisfactory polyimide film by passing the polyamide acid treated conductor through a curing tower. The electrocoating bath can be continuously maintained by use of a semi-permeable membrane allowing for continuous plural solvent and base removal, while makeup aqueous plural solvent polyamide acid salt mixture is continuously introduced into the bath.
