    摘要: A recoil starter comprising a housing (1) that is stationary mounted relative to an engine; a moving unit rotatable about a stationary axis (8) of rotation in the housing, the moving unit comprising a line pulley (2) onto which a pulling line (3) is winded, an inner end of the pulling line being anchored near a centre of the line pulley (2) and an outer, free end of which reaches through an aperture formed through a wall of the housing (1); a return spring (4) connected to the line pulley (2), said return spring arranged to be stretched by the line pulley when the line pulley is rotated about said axis (8) in result of pulling the pulling line (3) off from the line pulley, and which is operative upon return to rewind the pulling line onto the line pulley; a carrier (6) driven by said line pulley for rotation about said stationary axis (8); a swinging pawl (5) supported on the carrier (6), said pawl driven by said carrier in rotation to engage a crank shaft of the engine for transferring upon said crank shaft the rotation of said carrier (6), and which pawl returns to a non-engaging position on said carrier when the rotational speed of the crank shaft exceeds the rotational speed of the carrier upon ignition of the engine. The carrier is shiftable from contra-rotation to co-rotation with the line pulley and vice versa, and the carrier carries at least two pawls, each of which is operative in one of said co-rotational and contra-rotational directions.

A wire member constituting the damper spring is formed so as to have a section shape in which at least one side is linearly formed, and the damper spring is formed by winding the wire member into a coil-like shape so that the linear portion of the wire member is placed on an inner peripheral side, thereby enabling the inner side face of the damper spring to be tightly wound in a wide area around outer peripheral faces of the bosses.

    摘要: A starting device is provided for an internal combustion engine, in particular a pull-rope type starting device for a two-stroke or four-stroke motor. The starting device includes a pulley or rope drum which is rotatably held in a housing, and generates the drive torque for a motor shaft by means of a starter handle or pull handle. The starting device is rotatable by way of a load transfer means, in particular by way of a starter rope or pull-rope, and by way of an elastic coupling element, in particular by way of a spiral spring. A ratchet-type engaging element is provided, by means of which the drive torque can be transmitted to the motor shaft, such that not only is overloading of the elastic coupling element prevented in a safe and reliable manner, but also, even if the elastic coupling element should break, the starting still functions, and the internal combustion engine can still be started. The angle of rotation by which the engaging element can be rotated by exerting a load on the elastic coupling element in relation to the pulley or rope drum is limitable to at least one definable maximum angular value.

The hub has a bore in which a rearward end portion of the starter shaft is inserted for rotational movement relative to the hub. The starter pin is received within the slanted groove so as to move the starter shaft in the direction of the shaft axis in response to rotation of the shaft axis relative to the hub to thereby move an actuator attached to a forward end of the starter shaft into and out of engagement with a connecting pin of the model engine's crank shaft. The slanted groove is defined by a front guide face which terminates at an open end of the guide groove, a rear guide face opposed to the front guide face, and a transition face which extends between the rear guide face and the open end of the guide groove.

    摘要: An engine control unit enablement circuit is disclosed that selectively closes a conductive path between a chargeable electrical energy source and electronics of an engine/motor. An engine position sensor provides feedback as to the rotational position of a rotating component of an engine to the enablement circuit. When the rotating component, e.g. crankshaft or flywheel, is rotating, the enablement circuit closes the conductive path and allows the transference of electrical energy from the energy source to the engine and motor electronics. Conversely, when feedback is received indicative of non-rotation of the rotating component, the enablement circuit opens the conductive path. As such, energy stored in the energy source remains stored. With a subsequent detection of rotation of the rotating component, the conductive is closed and the stored energy is allowed to pass to the engine and motor electronics thereby allowing faster powering of the engine and motor electronics.
