    摘要: A starter handle gripping device includes a hand grip having a width that is suitable for receiving a human hand, a pair of elongated arms that extend from both ends of the handle and a coupler for engaging the starter handle. The hand grip, arms and coupler include a one-piece construction, and the arms are diagonal in relation to the handle. The coupler includes a pair of generally U-shaped fingers that are integrally formed onto the ends of the two elongated arms, and a cross member for maintaining a separation distance between the ends of the arms. The second end of each of the arms includes a separation distance that is complementary to a width of a cord cavity of the starter handle, and each of the fingers includes a width that is complementary to a thickness of the upper portion of the starter handle.

    摘要: In at least some implementations, an auxiliary power supply in an ignition system for a light-duty combustion engine includes a first auxiliary winding and a second auxiliary winding coupled in parallel with the first auxiliary winding such that both windings are arranged to provide power to an auxiliary load. The first auxiliary winding may include a greater number of turns than the second auxiliary winding. A ratio of the number of turns in the first auxiliary winding to the number of turns in the second auxiliary winding may be between 1.5:1 and 10:1, the first auxiliary coil and the second auxiliary coil may have between 50 and 2,000 turns, and the first auxiliary coil and the second auxiliary coil are formed from wire between 25 and 45 gauge.

    摘要: A method is for the safe starting of a combustion engine in a handheld, portable work apparatus. When starting, start rpm limiting is activated when the rotational speed of the combustion engine exceeds an activation rotational speed that lies above the coupling rotational speed of a centrifugal coupling. After activating the start rpm limiting for at least one working cycle, an intervention in the ignition is carried out such that the rotational speed of the combustion engine decreases. After the rotational speed has decreased below a lower engagement rotational speed, an intervention in the ignition is carried out such that the rotational speed increases. If the rotational speed exceeds an upper engagement rotational speed, an intervention in the ignition is again carried out such that the rotational speed decreases. The upper engagement rotational speed and/or the lower engagement rotational speed is/are changed with an increasing number of consecutive working cycles.

    摘要: The invention concerns a method for controlling the fuel supply to an internal combustion engine at start-up. The fuel supply system can be set in at least two start modes, a lean mode and a rich mode, and the selection of mode is based on an evaluation of a previous start attempt or successful run. The invention also concerns a carburetor (10) having a fuel supply system including a main fuel path (13) with an actively controlled fuel valve (26) and an idling fuel path (14) branching off from the main fuel path (13) downstream of the valve (26). The fuel supply system further includes a start fuel line (23, 423) starting upstream (FIG. 1) or downstream (FIG. 4) of the fuel valve (26) and ending in at least one start fuel outlet near and downstream of a choke valve.
