Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method, system, and device for generating and managing archived data. To illustrate, an archive request including an indication of a first set of files is received from an entity device. Archive information is generated based on the first set of files and stored at a first storage location and the first set of files are transmitted to an archival storage location. After the storage at the archival storage location, the archive information is accessed from the first storage location based on a retrieval request from the entity device and a request is transmitted to the archival storage location based on the archive information. The first set of files are received from the archival storage location and stored at a second storage location. A notification is sent to the entity device indicating the first set of files are available at the second storage location.

Abstract: Examples described herein generally relate to a scalable multi-tier storage system. An entry may be added and/or deleted within the storage system. To delete an entry, the storage system may determine whether the entry corresponds to the file or the directory based on directory metadata, and request deletion of the directory metadata associated with the entry from the directory volume based on determining that the entry corresponds to the directory, and further requesting deletion of the file from a file volume based on a determination that the entry corresponds to the file. To add a file, the storage system may generate directory metadata associated with the entry in the directory volume based on a determination that the entry corresponds to the directory, and may further allocate file metadata in the file volume based on a determination that the entry corresponds to the file.

Abstract: In various examples, data storage is managed using a distributed storage management system that is resilient. Data blocks of a logical block device may be distributed across multiple nodes in a cluster. The logical block device may correspond to a file system volume associated with a file system instance deployed on a selected node within a distributed block layer of a distributed file system. Each data block may have a location in the cluster identified by a block identifier associated with each data block. Each data block may be replicated on at least one other node in the cluster. A metadata object corresponding to a logical block device that maps to the file system volume may be replicated on at least another node in the cluster. Each data block and the metadata object may be hosted on virtualized storage that is protected using redundant array independent disks (RAID).

Abstract: Methods and systems for transitioning a replica of a file system are described. An illustrative method includes updating a replica file system on a target data repository to be a replica of a source file system as the source file system existed on the source data repository at a point in time, where the replica file system is constructed of block objects at the target data repository that store metadata for individual files and directories of the replica file system and support access to blocks of data associated with the files and directories of the target file system at the target data repository, and where the updating includes updating the block objects of the replica file system to be replicas of block objects of the source file system as the block objects of the source file system existed on the source data repository at the point in time.

Abstract: In an approach, a processor obtains a configuration file of a distributed file system federation, the configuration file comprising a list of a plurality of subclusters within the distributed file system federation and migration trigger factors for the plurality of subclusters. A processor determines a list of one or more source subclusters and a list of to-be-migrated directories in the one or more source subclusters based on a scanning result of the plurality of subclusters and the migration trigger factors in the configuration file. A processor generates a migration plan to migrate the to-be-migrated directories from the one or more source subclusters to one or more target subclusters in the distributed file system federation.

Abstract: The technology disclosed herein enables accelerated data transmission between producers and consumers. In a particular example, a method includes receiving a first request from a producer-connector component of a producer component to store a payload to a storage repository. In response to the first request, the method includes providing a unique identifier to the connector component. The connector component provides the unique identifier to the distributed-clustered application. The method further includes storing the payload in association with the unique identifier to the storage repository. The method also includes retrieving the payload from the storage repository using the unique identifier to identify the payload in the storage repository. The method includes receiving a second request from a consumer-connector component of the consumer component to retrieve the payload. In response to the second request, the method includes supplying the payload to the consumer component.
