The selector selects an alternative path for transmitting the input packet from among the plurality of paths based on the priority of the input packet detected by the detector and respective transmission delays of the plurality of paths measured by the measurement unit when a failure occurs in a path that has been selected by the selector.

An optical transmission system which transmits a supervisory control signal concerning a transmission path switching to one or more cores of a single or multiple multicore fibers, an active signal to one or more cores, and a standby signal to one or more cores includes optical switching devices connected to respective ends of the optical transmission system. Upon detection of the transmission failure of the active signal based on the signal transmission condition and information from the supervisory control signal, it is switched to the standby signal. The supervisory control signal is transmitted to the center core of the multicore fiber.

    摘要: An apparatus searches for one or more first routes coupling starting and ending point nodes in a communication network including an asymmetry node, based on topology information indicating a connection relationship between nodes on the communication network. The apparatus determines, for each of the one or more first routes, whether or not signals are transmittable between the starting and ending point nodes under path restriction imposed on the asymmetry node, based on asymmetry-node information indicating the path restriction imposed on the asymmetry node. The apparatus determines a second route that has a minimum sum of link costs among one or more third routes for which it is determined that signals are transmittable between the starting and ending point nodes under the path restriction imposed on the asymmetry node, based on cost information storing a link cost of a link connecting each pair of adjacent nodes on the communication network.
