A variable disparity three-dimensional (3D) display system and method of processing a variable disparity three-dimensional (3D) image shown on a display to reduce motion sickness of a person viewing the display. The system includes a motion detector configured to determine a motion value that characterizes motion of a display, and an image processor configured to adjust incrementally a disparity amount of a 3D image shown by the display based on the motion value in order to reduce motion sickness of a person viewing the display. The method includes determining a motion value that characterizes motion of a display, and adjusting a disparity amount of a 3D image shown by the display incrementally based on the motion value in order to reduce motion sickness of a person viewing the display.

An ignition coil includes a magnetically-permeable core, a primary winding disposed outward of the core, and a secondary winding disposed outward of the primary winding and inductively coupled to the primary winding. The secondary winding includes a left secondary winding section wound clockwise around the primary winding and a right winding section wound counterclockwise around the primary winding. The left secondary winding section has i) a first left winding end distal from the right winding section and ii) a second left winding end that is proximal to the right winding section. The right secondary winding section has i) a first right winding end distal from the left winding section and ii) a second right winding end that is proximal to the left winding section. The second left winding end and the second right winding end are connected to a terminal.

A control module includes a fixed control apparatus which is provided with a touch-sensitive surface so as to provide a control signal representative of the position or of the movement of a finger on the sensitive surface. The sensitive surface of the control apparatus includes a toroidal portion arranged about a main axis. The control module includes a control unit which is designed to detect an axial component and a circumferential component of a tactile movement on the sensitive surface so as to produce a processed control signal which is a function of these two components.
Abstract:
A system, controller, and method for aligning a stereo camera of a vehicle mounted object detection system that includes a first camera and a second camera mounted spaced apart on a vehicle. An image from each camera at two different times is used to determine an observed displacement of an object relative to the vehicle. A predicted displacement of the object relative to the vehicle is also determined using either a difference of vehicle position measured based on other vehicle measurements or GPS, or a difference of size of the object in images taken at the two different times. Alignment is provided by determining a triangulation correction based on a difference of the observed displacement and the predicted displacement to correct for misalignment of the cameras.

A vehicle instrument panel assembly that includes a display surface and a pointer equipped with an electro-optical cell. The display surface is equipped with a graphical indicator. The graphical indicator is selectively operable to an off-state and an illuminated-state. The pointer is operable to move about an axis to point to indicia on the display surface. The pointer is operable to a position that obstructs the graphical indictor from view. The electro-optical cell is operable to a transparent-state and located on the pointer to overlay the graphical indicator when the pointer is at the position that obstructs the graphical indictor from view. The cell is operated to the transparent-state when the graphical indicator is operated to the illuminated-state.

A fuel rail assembly for supplying pressurized fuel to at least one fuel injector of an engine includes a hollow fuel rail extending along a fuel rail axis. The fuel rail includes an inlet for introducing the pressurized fuel into the fuel rail and at least one outlet for dispensing the pressurized fuel from the fuel rail. The fuel rail assembly also includes a bracket for attaching the fuel rail assembly to the engine. The bracket includes a fuel rail portion defining a first passage extending therethrough in the same direction as the fuel rail axis for receiving the fuel rail therewithin. The bracket also includes a mounting portion adjacent to the fuel rail portion and defining a second passage extending therethrough in the same direction as the fuel rail axis. The mounting portion is configured to receive a fastener for securing the fuel rail assembly to the engine.

A method to decode an orthogonal frequency-division multiplex (OFDM) signal data block that includes symbol-data in a data interval, repeated-data in a cyclic-prefix (CP) guard interval, and noise. The signal is often called a CP-OFDM signal. The method includes determining a first data set based on data samples taken during a first time window of a data block. The method also includes determining a second data set based on data samples taken during a second time window of the data block, wherein the second time window is selected so that the second data set includes repeated-data not present in the first data set. The method also includes combining the first data set and the second data set in a manner effective to increase a signal-to-noise ratio of the signal. The combining process increases signal data energy more than noise data energy.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine includes a camshaft with a lobe rotatable about a camshaft axis and a follower and which follows the lobe and is reciprocated along a follower axis by the lobe. A contact force is generated between the lobe and the follower such that the contact force is cyclic between a minimum contact force and a maximum contact force. The follower axis is offset from the camshaft axis such that the lobe contacts the follower at a contact point that is substantially aligned with the follower axis when the maximum contact force is generated between the lobe and the follower. In this way, the side load on the follower is minimized.

A housing with a self-mounting feature is provided. The housing includes a base that is configured to define a hook that cooperates with a back side of a panel and a first edge of an opening of the panel to secure the housing to a front side of the panel. The housing further includes a retainer that is operable to an un-engaged position and an engaged position. The retainer is configured to define a blocker portion that cooperates with a second edge of the opening to keep the hook adjacent to the first edge when the retainer is in the engaged position.

An automotive evaporator heat exchanger is provided having a hybrid expansion device configured to aliquot refrigerant across the refrigerant tubes. The hybrid expansion device includes a first stage refrigerant pressure drop device and a second stage refrigerant pressure drop device. The first stage refrigerant pressure drop device is a TXV configured to receive and expand a liquid phase refrigerant into a first mixture of two phase refrigerant and the second stage refrigerant pressure drop device is a tube extending within the inlet manifold configured to expand the first mixture of two phase refrigerant into a second mixture of two phase refrigerant. The tube includes a plurality of orifices and a tube diameter large enough to prevent resistance to refrigerant flow, but, small enough to prevent the first mixture of two phase refrigerant flow from separating into liquid and vapor strata.
