Abstract: An apparatus for assembling an engine includes an engine jig configured to load the engine on which a pump sprocket, a cam sprocket, an auto tensioner, and an engine belt are preliminarily mounted. The apparatus includes: a pump sprocket fastening unit disposed on a first die disposed on a first side of the engine jig and configured to clamp and fully fasten the pump sprocket in order to fixedly mount the pump sprocket preliminarily mounted to the engine; a cam sprocket fastening unit disposed on the first die and configured to clamp, rotate, and fully fasten the cam sprocket in order to fixedly mount the cam sprocket preliminarily mounted to the engine; and an auto tensioner fastening unit disposed on the first die, and configured to clamp, rotate, and fully fasten the auto tensioner in order to fixedly mount the auto tensioner preliminarily mounted to the engine.

Abstract: A valve timing change device includes: a housing rotor (10); a vane rotor; a fastening bolt (40); and an advance angle oil passage communicating with an advance angle chamber and a delay angle oil passage communicating with a delay angle chamber, via oil passages which are open at intervals on an outer-circumferential surface of the fastening bolt. The vane rotor includes: a rotor body (20) formed of a material having a thermal expansion coefficient greater than that of the fastening bolt; and a rotor sleeve (30) that is formed of a material having a thermal expansion coefficient equal to that of the fastening bolt and is integrally incorporated such that the rotor sleeve does not contact a cam shaft and tightly contacts the outer circumferential surface (41a), in a region in which the advance angle oil passage (23a) and the delay angle oil passage (35) are blocked from each other.

Abstract: A cam follower assembly is provided including an improved lubricant flowpath. The assembly includes a generally cylindrical housing including an annular groove adapted to be in communication with a lubricant gallery in an engine block or cylinder head. An axial end of the housing includes skirt portions including openings, and one of the skirt portions includes a first recessed section indented from an outer lateral surface of the housing and extending axially between the annular groove and a respective one of the openings. A pin is mounted in the openings of the skirt portions and has a second recessed section indented from an outer lateral surface of the pin that extends to at least one of the ends of the pin. The second recessed section is in communication with the first recessed section, and a cam roller supported on the pin.

Abstract: The present invention provides a variable valve mechanism of an internal combustion engine, which includes a rocker arm that is driven by a cam so as to swing to drive a valve, a switching pin that is attached to the rocker arm so as to be shifted between a first position and a second position, a shift device that shifts the switching pin from the first position to the second position, and a return spring that returns the switching pin. In the variable valve mechanism, a drive state of the valve is switched by shifting the switching pin, the rocker arm is formed to have such a dimension that one end of the switching pin is exposed while projecting outward from the rocker arm, and the return spring is externally fitted to the one end of the switching pin so as to be exposed outside the rocker arm.

An axis of reciprocation the sleeve valve drive means is spaced from and parallel to an axis of reciprocation of the piston drive means of the at least one piston and the axis of reciprocation the sleeve valve drive means is positioned around the circumference of the shaft from the axis of reciprocation of the piston drive means of the at least one piston. This may allow the engine to be more compact and have a reduced physical size compared to some known engines.
