摘要: In a general aspect, a circuit for controlling operation of an ignition circuit including an insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) device can include a current slope detection circuit configured to detect a slope of a current in a primary winding of an ignition coil included in the ignition circuit and a driver circuit coupled with the current slope detection circuit. The current slope detection circuit can be further configured to, during charging of the ignition coil, if the detected slope is above a first limit, provide a first indication to the driver circuit; and, if the detected slope is below a second limit, provide a second indication to the driver circuit. The driver circuit can be configured to, in response to receiving the first indication or the second indication, modify operation of the ignition circuit.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for inferring spark plug fouling due to accumulation of fuel additives thereon. In one example, an engine controller may infer spark plug hot fouling based on higher than expected exhaust temperatures by correlating the elevated exhaust temperature with late combustion phasing due to additive accumulation. A confidence factor of the spark plug hot fouling detection may be enhanced based on data regarding concurrent misfire and/or pre-ignition events.

The first control value Y1 is derived based on magnetic saturation of a primary winding 3, with the control being performed by controlling the on-off state of an energy injection switching means 20. As a result, magnetic saturation of the primary winding 3 can be prevented, and the reliability of an ignition apparatus which incorporates an energy injection circuit 6 can be increased.

摘要: An embodiment of an ignition device comprises an ignition coil including a first winding and a second winding electromagnetically coupled to each other, a first switch electrically connected to a first end of the first winding, a battery electrically connected to a second end of the first winding, a booster with a first end electrically connected to the battery, a second switch electrically connected to a second end of the booster and to the second end of the first winding, and a drive device electrically connected to the first switch, that turns the first switch and the second switch on and off. The drive device feeds a secondary current to the second winding by changing the first switch from an on-state to an off-state, and supplies an output from the booster to the first winding by changing the second switch from an off-state to an on-state.

摘要: In an internal combustion engine ignition coil apparatus, a high-voltage supplying portion has: a protector that is bonded to an ignition coil main body, an electrical conductor, and a resistor that is connected in series between the ignition coil main body and the electrical conductor, and that reduces conductive noise. An electromagnetic wave absorber that shields radiated noise that is generated in the high-voltage supplying portion is mounted to an engine block so as to surround the protector and the resistor. An end surface of the resistor near the ignition coil main body is disposed so as to be aligned with an end surface of the electromagnetic wave absorber near the ignition coil main body.

摘要: A method of assembling the ignition coil assembly including a first spool, a first coil, and a second spool. The first coil is wound around a first spool outer surface. The first spool and the first coil are disposed within a cavity of the second spool and an electrically insulating material injected into an annular space defined between a first coil outer surface and a second spool inner surface. The first spool is configured to allow a decrease of a circumference of the first spool when the first coil is wound around an outer surface of the first spool. Decreasing the circumference of the first spool increases the annular space sufficient to inject the electrically insulating material into the annular space without creating substantial voids in the electrically insulating material.
