    Abstract: A receiver performing a half cyclic prefix (CP) shift on received subframes is disclosed, comprising: an analog to digital conversion (ADC) module; a cyclic prefix (CP) removal module coupled to the ADC module configured to retain a portion of cyclic prefix samples; a fast Fourier transform (FFT) module configured to receive samples from the cyclic prefix removal module, and to perform a FFT procedure on the received samples using a FFT window, the FFT window being shifted ahead based on the retained portion of cyclic prefix samples, to output an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbol; and a rotation compensation module coupled to the FFT module, the rotation compensation module configured to perform phase de-rotation of the OFDM symbol.

    Abstract: A method for measuring channel quality in a wireless transceiver is disclosed, comprising: receiving, at a wireless transceiver, an analog signal from a user equipment (UE); converting the analog signal to a plurality of digital samples at an analog to digital converter (ADC); performing a fast Fourier transform (FFT) on the plurality of digital samples to generate frequency domain samples; identifying an uplink demodulation reference signal (DMRS) symbol; performing channel estimation on the DMRS symbol to identify an estimate of channels; creating a noise covariance matrix from the estimate of channels; and deriving an interference measure from the noise covariance matrix.

    Abstract: Systems, methods and computer software are disclosed for a Self Organizing Network (SON) Radio Access Technology (RAT) selection for User Equipment (UE) in a virtualized Radio Access Network (RAN) environment. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed, comprising: establishing, by the UE, a Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) and at least one Data Radio Bearer (DRB) with a Virtual node (Vnode); determining, by the SON, whether the Vnode has reached a data saturation limit; when the Vnode has reached the data saturation limit, then determining whether there is another RAT Vnode which can provide better data throughput; and when there is another RAT Vnode which can provide better data throughput, then initiating a handover procedure for the UE and specifying a target cell located in a same geographic area.

    Abstract: A method and system for using low earth orbit satellites to overcome latency is presented. In one embodiment, the method may include establishing a data session using a first channel having a first characteristic different than a second characteristic of a second channel, wherein the first channel is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) channel and wherein the second channel is a Geosynchronous Equatorial Orbit (GEO) channel; determining a type of traffic involved in the data session; determining whether the second channel should be used for the data session; when the second channel should be used for the data session, then switching the data session from the first channel to the second channel; and periodically monitoring the data session to determine whether the second channel should continue to be used for the data session.
