Abstract:
Monitoring user activity on a mobile device is described. In one aspect, video content is received and played to a user of the mobile device. The monitoring activity detects an interruption of playback of the video content and determines an event associated with the interruption. The event is stored in the mobile device and communicated to a remote device.
Abstract:
A broadcast programming receiver is provided which includes a broadcast programming interface, a memory, a communication network interface, and output circuitry. The broadcast programming interface is configured to receive broadcast programming, while the output circuitry is configured to transfer the broadcast programming to an output device. The memory is configured to store data related to the broadcast programming. In one embodiment, the communication network interface is configured to receive the data related to the broadcast programming over a communication network from a second broadcast programming receiver and transfer the data to the memory. In another implementation, the communication network interface is configured to receive the data from the memory and send the data over the communication network to a second broadcast programming receiver.
Abstract:
Described herein are mounting plates which facilitate securing of the electrical switching device to an object. The plate mounts to an object and is configured to secure one or more electrical switching devices. The mounting plate includes a planar surface having a plurality of first through holes configured to secure an electrical switching device to a first side of the planar surface. The mounting plate further includes a bracket attached to a second side of the planar surface configured to secure the mounting plate to another object.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for providing simulated three-dimensional images on a two-dimensional display screen without the use of special filters or overlays on the display or special eyewear. Images having different focal points are displayed as pictures and switched between rapidly, such that the human eye automatically adjusts to focus on each picture in succession. As the pictures are presented sequentially, the viewer may perceive that the display shows images at different depth planes. The number of depth planes may vary between embodiments.
Abstract:
Various arrangements for testing video decoder device functionality are presented. A video frame decoded by a video decoder device under test may be received. The received video frame may be segmented into a plurality of blocks. A first value may be calculated for a first block of the plurality of blocks of the received video frame using pixel values of pixels present within the first block. The first value may be compared to a first reference value. The first reference value may correspond to a first reference block of one or more reference frames. Video decoder functionality of the video decoder device may be determined to be functional at least partially based on comparing the first value to the first reference value.
Abstract:
Multi-angle levels and plumbing methods are described. In one aspect, a multi-angle level has a body made up of a base section and a rotating section rotatably secured to the base section. A leveling mechanism is disposed on the rotating section.
Abstract:
An RF connector on a circuit board is provided. The RF connector includes a socket member, which includes a conductive sleeve comprising a top portion, a bottom portion, a plurality of springs connecting the top portion to the bottom portion. The RF connector also includes a base inside the conductive sleeve comprising a matching hole configured to match to a conductive pin of a plug member. The RF connector further includes an end portion electrically coupled to the circuit board. The end portion is mounted on the circuit board. The RF connector also includes a middle portion connected between the socket member and the end portion.
Abstract:
“Binge watching” of multiple episodes of a program is improved by the player device automatically skipping repeated portions of the program. Opening and closing credit scenes, for example, can be automatically skipped to thereby allow the viewer to progress through the entire season of programming at an even faster rate than was previously thought possible. Programming to be skipped may be identified by detecting audio or other digital fingerprints in the content itself, for example. Content to be skipped may be identified to the playback device according to presentation time stamp (PTS) or other time markers.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and non-transitory, machine-readable media to facilitate updating media devices in a local network with a client-server architecture are disclosed. A primary media device may be configured to operate as a server in a local network, receive audio/video (A/V) content via an Internet connection and/or a satellite network connection, serve the A/V content to a set of one or more secondary media devices for display with at least one television of a set of one or more televisions, and receive a set of one or more software updates via the Internet connection, a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connection, and/or the satellite network connection. One or more software updates of the set of one or more software updates may be specified for, and may be transferred to, the set of one or more secondary media devices.
Abstract:
Technologies for content delivery and presentation tracking are disclosed. An example method includes tracking tokens generated during playback of a content stream, associating each of the tracked viewer measurement tokens with metadata that indicates timing, and merging the tracked viewer measurement tokens with baseline format tokens associated with the playback of the content stream, to generate merged token data.
