Abstract: An endless belt for a conveyor system comprises a plurality of support bars (36) arranged side by side and each having a plurality of branch bars (42), (44) projecting from opposite sides thereof and formed with bores (46), (48) extending therethrough respectively. Each support bar (36) has the branch bars (42) interposed between the branch bars (44) of another support bar (36) immediately adjacent thereto, with a connecting rod (38) extending through the bores (46), (48) of the opposed branch bars (42), (44) to interconnect the adjacent support bars (36). The bores (48) are in the form of slots, rendering the support bars (36) movable longitudinally of the belt and angularly shiftable relative to each other.

Abstract: An improved chain bracket and especially a trolley bracket for use in overhead conveyor systems including a strengthened chain support structure. The bracket is stamped from sheet metal but includes chain support pads formed separately and secured to the stamped bracket by welding or the like. In one embodiment, reinforcing members back up at least some of the chain pads to resist bending and deformation when the pads support a conveyor chain link under load. Alternately, the chain pads can be bent in one piece from the bracket sheet metal and reinforced with separate rigid bars or triangular supports welded or otherwise fastened to the stamped bracket preferably intermediate upstanding marginal side edge flanges which help stiffen, rigidify and strengthen the bracket. The separate pads or reinforcing members can be made from harder, more wear resistant materials than the remainder of the bracket.

Abstract: Apparatus for successively receiving and transporting long cut lengths of wire from a wire cutting mechanism and stacking the cut lengths in a receiver, a pair of long looped belts being supported with confronting surface faces coacting to form a longitudinally moving V-trough having an inlet and coupled with the wire delivery end of the cutting mechanism. One of the belts is supported on a fixed frame structure, and the other belt is supported upon a pivoted frame structure, a power actuator being selectively energizable to swing the pivoted frame structure in a direction to separate the converging belts and form an elongate discharge opening along the bottom of the trough through which the delivered cut wire length in the trough may be discharged by gravity into a receiver, and thereafter swing the pivoted frame in an opposite direction to close the discharge opening. Controls are provided for manually delaying the opening and closing operations of the converged belts in response to a signal from the cutting mechanism at the conclusion of each of its wire cutting operations.

Abstract: A conveyor, in particular for eggs, comprising two lateral chains of the type having closed annular links extending in perpendicular planes. The chains are interconnected by a number of transverse bars forming the actual carrier surface. Successive bars have different levels upon a common reference plane, so that at least the upper surface of each second bar is on a higher level than the upper surface of the first bar. One advantage is that eggs resting on two bars can be transported over steeper rises without rolling backwards.

Abstract: An improved carriage for use in a conveyor for transferring frozen confections includes a pair of scissorable tong-receiving arms. A pair of tongs are detachably mounted on the arms in a manner which facilitates rapid replacement of the tongs. Each tong is pivotable on a pin extending transversely of the arms and is held by a spring clip that remains attached to the arm during removal and replacement of the tong. Preferably, the clip is generally U-shaped and attached to the arm such that the inner wall thereof abuts against the inner surface of the tong. Such inner wall has an inwardly bent tip which snaps into place against the tong when the tong has been pivoted into alignment with the arm.

Abstract: A portable self-supporting food service conveyor has an elongated rectangular table top supported at each end by box-like pedestal enclosures and in the top of which there is a circular tracking slot within which is removably received an articulated-slat conveyor belt. Abstract: A drive chain cooperative with a guide for successively advancing can bodies (or the like) coaxially is pivotally fitted with longitudinally spaced driving lugs adapted to grip the respective trailing ends of the bodies and thus prevent their unwanted shifting about their longitudinal axes.
