Abstract:
A method for phase noise mitigation for a coherent receiver in either an OFDM or single carrier based transmission system including applying a frequency offset and coarse phase noise compensation based on a radio frequency RF tone or using a phase lock loop PLL m-th power procedure, responsive to a signal from a digital signal processed transmission with an added pilots signal over an optical system, applying fine phase noise compensation based on comparison of the pilots signal in a time domain, removing the pilots, and demodulating the remaining pilotless signal.
Abstract:
A method implemented in an apparatus used in a radio access network (RAN) sharing system including a plurality of basestations is disclosed. The method includes estimating resource requirement or demand of one or more entities in each base station according to feedback from the plurality of basestations, computing resource allocation for said one or more entities, and enforcing the computed resource allocation using basestation-level virtualization. Other methods, apparatuses, and systems also are disclosed.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for image classification by receiving an overcomplete set of spatial regions, jointly optimizing the classifier and the pooling region for each pooled feature; and performing incremental feature selection and retraining using a grafting process to efficiently train the classifier.
Abstract:
A device used in a network is disclosed. The device includes a network monitor to monitor a network state and to collect statistics for flows going through the network, a flow aggregation unit to aggregate flows into clusters and identify flows that can cause a network problem, and an adaptive control unit to adaptively regulate the identified flow according to network feedback. Other methods and systems also are disclosed.

Abstract:
Methods and systems for generating software analysis test inputs include generating a path query to cover a target branch of a program by executing a symbolic test driver concretely and partially symbolically, where at least one symbolic expression is partially concretized with concrete values; determining whether it is feasible to execute the target branch based on whether the generated path query is satisfiable or unsatisfiable using a constraint solver; if the target branch is feasible, generating a new test driver by replacing symbolic values in the symbolic test driver with generated solution values; and if the target branch is not feasible, analyzing an unsatisfiable core to determine whether unsatisfiability is due to a concretization performed during generation of the path query.
Abstract:
A method for migration from a multitenant database is shown that includes building an analytical model for each of a set of migration methods based on database characteristics; predicting performance of the set of migration methods using the respective analytical model with respect to tenant service level agreements (SLAs) and current and predicted tenant workloads, where the prediction includes a migration speed and an SLA violation severity; and selecting a best migration method from the set of migration methods according to the respective predicted migration speeds and SLA violation severities.
Abstract:
There is provided a method of solving a SAT problem comprising partitioning SAT-formula clauses in the SAT problem into a plurality of partitions. Each of said plurality of partitions is solved as a separate process each, thereby constituting a plurality of processes where each of said process communicates only with a subset of the plurality of processes.
Abstract:
A class of soft-input soft-output demodulation schemes for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels, based on the sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) framework under both stochastic and deterministic settings. The stochastic SMC sampler generates MIMO symbol samples based on importance sampling and resampling techniques, while the deterministic SMC approach recursively performs exploration and selection steps in a greedy manner. By exploiting the artificial sequential structure of the existing simple Bell Labs Layered Space Time (BLAST) detection method based on nulling and cancellation, the proposed algorithms achieve an error probability performance that is orders of magnitude better than the traditional BLAST detection schemes while maintaining a low computational complexity. Performance is comparable with that of the sphere decoding algorithm, with a much lower complexity. Both the stochastic and deterministic SMC detectors can be employed as the first-stage demodulator in an iterative or turbo receiver in coded MIMO systems.
Abstract:
Security mechanisms are disclosed that protect the integrity of the candidate access node discovery procedures in a mobile communication network. In accordance with an aspect of the invention, an access node stores information on candidate access nodes in the mobile communication network and updates the information only after verifying information provided by a mobile terminal after a handoff from one access node to another access node. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, the information on candidate access nodes in the mobile communication network are associated with a particular mobile terminal and stored at the mobile terminal in a candidate access node list.
