Abstract: A conveyor adapted to change the direction of an article being transferred thereon, said conveyor being of the construction including a first linear transfer portion having a plurality of parallel rollers, a direction changing portion which is located adjacent to said first transfer portion and adapted to change the direction of an article being transferred, and a second linear transfer portion also having a plurality of parallel rollers, said direction changing portion consisting of a combination of at least one group of parallel rollers having varying lengths and at least one single separate roller extending along the line formed with the ends, on one side, of said at least one group of parallel rollers, said line being formed at a given angle to rollers of said first linear transfer portion, said group of parallel rollers and said single separate roller being adapted to be driven by a drive means. This conveyor permits the directional change of an article being transferred with a minimized space and without imparting a downward gradient to at least said direction changing portion in a level plane.

Abstract: An elevator conveyor including a plurality of partitions which define material carrying pockets wherein the partitions are arranged in spaced relation to one another on the interior surface of an endless conveyor belt which is guided around a plurality of driving wheels such that the path of the conveyor belt extends along a substantially vertical portion. The material carrying pockets are further defined by side walls having a corrugated configuration and which are disposed in substantially contiguous relation to the ends of the partition but are not joined to them. The partitions are substantially inclined at an acute angle relative to the plane of the conveyor belt to which they are attached and in the direction of travel of the belt as may be the side walls. Loading and delivery stations are oppositely disposed at the bottom and top of the conveyor respectively such that loading and discharge of the conveyor may be affected by gravity.

Abstract: A bucket conveyor system comprising a support housing having a plurality of sprockets rotatably mounted therein having first and second chains looped therearound. A plurality of tiltable buckets are supported by the chains and are adapted to be moved between an inlet portion of the housing to a discharge portion of the housing. Each of the buckets has a pair of support arms extending from the upper center portion thereof which are secured to the chains. A large control wheel is secured to each of the buckets at the lower center portion thereof for engagement with a track provided in the support housing to control the attitude of the bucket. The control wheels of adjacent buckets are positioned on opposite ends of the respective buckets. Means is also provided on the support housing for dumping the buckets at the discharge portion of the housing.

Abstract: A conveyor system is disclosed having a conveyor belt with corrugated chevron or V-shaped cleats extending across the belt wherein the cleats provide pockets for retaining flowable materials during upward movement of the belt at a substantial angle to the horizontal. The apex of each cleat extends between the ends of the next cleat so as to provide continuous transverse overlapping of the cleats. The corrugations in the cleats permit the cleats to extend longitudinally of themselves so that they remain upright as they pass around the rollers upon which the belt is mounted. The cleats also have the very advantageous feature of permitting stable support of the conveyor belt during its return run by transverse rollers.

Abstract: In a bucket elevator a cleaning lip is attached to a few buckets of the bucket and chain line to protrude beyond the normal outer edge of the bucket to remove material in the bottom part of the elevator casing. Abstract: Apparatus for forming an articulated track comprising a plurality of identical members adapted for pivotal connection to one another, each member having at one edge a coupling projection flanked by arcuate recesses and having at the opposite edge a coupling socket formed by arcuate, spaced apart arms. Abstract: A conveyor belt for carrying bulk material while supported on troughing rolls has nearly inextensible longitudinal reinforcements in the edges only of the belt, above the margins of the transverse reinforcements. The belt is made of rubber or other elastomer of uniform thickness except at the edges which are substantially thickened on the top surface only, to contain the longitudinal reinforcements. The transverse reinforcements are preferably a spaced pair of fabrics, inextensible in the direction transverse of the belt but extensible longitudinally.
