Abstract: Devices and methods for estimating impedance of an output element are described. According to one embodiment, a device for estimating impedance of an output element comprises a data acquisition circuit to acquire measurement data for currents and voltages of the output element connected to a common output node of a first converter module and a second converter module; and an impedance calculation circuit to calculate impedance of the output element using a component corresponding to a switching frequency of the first converter module and a component corresponding to a beat frequency, which corresponds to a difference between the switching frequency of the first converter module and a switching frequency of the second converter module, from current measurement values and voltage measurement values of the output element.

Abstract: Provided is an operation method of a heat engine device using a single ion configured to greatly improve the efficiency of a heat engine by performing work in a different way than heat engine apparatuses to which classical thermodynamics applies. With the single ion heat engine device, a heat engine cycle in accordance with an auto engine cycle can be established on a micro-scale. Accordingly, the heat engine device using single ion has the effect of being able to be utilized as a substantially mesoscopic or nano-scale heat engine. This utilization is based on concepts, such as temperature, entropy, and pressure, that vary with features of a micro-miniaturized heat engine and types of thermal reservoirs and on interpretation of a change in engine efficiency.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a three-terminal synaptic device for artificial neural network learning, a synaptic array using the same, and a method of operating the same. The three-terminal synaptic device includes a first transistor; an electrochemical memory (ECRAM) connected in parallel to the first transistor; and a second transistor connected in series to the parallel structure. Accordingly, the present disclosure can achieve an accuracy improvement of inference and learning operations in an artificial neural network through parallel operation by configuring a cross-point array based on the synaptic device with the three-terminal structure comprised of the electrochemical memory and two transistors.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel probe set for an isothermal one-pot reaction, and uses thereof and, particularly, provides a method for easily, accurately, and quickly diagnosing molecules, in particular, infection diseases, in the field, the method having a form applicable in the field on the basis of a nucleic acid sequence by using a one-pot reaction composition under an isothermal condition. If a molecular diagnostic platform according to the present invention is used, a target sequence can be quickly and accurately detected. Also, elements (reaction buffer, enzyme) needed in a diagnostic process using the present invention are much more simple and convenient than in a conventional antibody-based diagnosis, and, thus, the diagnostic process can be performed by a non-skilled person, and the sensitivity and speed of diagnosis can be increased, as all reactions are unified at a constant temperature without expensive equipment used in general nucleic-acid-based molecular diagnostic technology, and an amplification process is performed automatically during a reaction process.

Abstract: A resistive hydrogen sensor comprising a sensing layer having semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), and a manufacturing method therefor are disclosed. The hydrogen sensor comprises: a substrate; a sensing layer, which is formed on the substrate and comprises semiconducting SWCNTs; and electrodes formed on the surface of the sensing layer in the direction opposite to the direction facing the substrate, or formed between the sensing layer and the substrate, and spaced from each other, and thus has a sensitivity of 5% or higher and a response time of two seconds or less with respect to a hydrogen gas having a hydrogen concentration of 4 vol % in comparison to when there is no hydrogen, and can be operated at a low temperature.
