    Abstract: A polypropylene composition made from or containing: A) from 60 to 90 wt %, based upon the total weight of the polypropylene composition, of a fraction insoluble in xylene at 25° C., is made from or containing more than 80% wt of propylene units, and B) from 10 to 40 wt %, based upon the total weight of the polypropylene composition, of a fraction soluble in xylene at 25° C. is made from or containing a copolymer of propylene and ethylene having an average content of ethylene derived units from 30.0 wt % to 55.0 wt %, wherein the fraction when subjected to GPC fractionation and continuous IR analysis for determining the ethylene content of the eluted fractions (GPC-IR analysis), shows that the content of ethylene increases along with the Mw for fractions having Mw higher than the average.

    Abstract: A method for the production of metal-plated articles, including the step of depositing an electrically-conductive metallic layer on a surface of an article comprising a polymer composition comprising by weight: a) 40-60% of a propylene homopolymer, or propylene copolymer containing up to 5% by weight of ethylene and/or another C4-C10 α-olefin, and having a melting temperature of 155° C. or higher and/or a fraction soluble in xylene at 25° C. of 10% by weight or less; b) 10-20% of an ethylene-based elastoplastic copolymer, optionally, a copolymer of ethylene with C4-C10 α-olefin; c) 2-6% of a styrene block copolymer; d) optionally, up to 3% of a propylene homopolymer having a Melt Flow Rate (230° C./2.16 kg) of 500 g/10 min. or more; e) 15-50% of a filler; and f) optionally, up to 6% of a color pigment.

    Abstract: A polypropylene composition made from or containing (i) component (1) made from or containing a propylene homopolymer or copolymer containing 0 to 0.5% by weight of an ethylene-derived unit; (ii) component (2) made from or containing an ethylene/propylene copolymer containing 15 to 30% by weight of an ethylene-derived unit; and (iii) 0.01 to 1.0 parts by weight of a crystal nucleating agent based on a total of 100 parts by weight of component (1) and component (2); wherein 1) the Mw/Mn value of xylene insolubles (XI) is in the range of 6 to 20, 2) the weight ratio of component (1) to component (2) is in the range of 82:18 to 90:10, 3) the intrinsic viscosity of xylene solubles (XSIV) is in the range of 2.5 to 3.4 dl/g, 4) the MFR (at 230° C. under a load of 2.16 kg) is in the range of 3 to 10 g/10 min.

    Abstract: Methods of depolymerizing polyolefin-based material into useful petrochemical products using styrene oligomers or polymers, and heat are described. The styrene oligomers or polymers improve the depolymerization reaction by decreasing the halftime for the depolymerization, which results in a higher depolymerization rate and a shorter residence time in the depolymerization unit, allowing for a predictable depolymerization reaction, and decreasing the branching or aromatic formations in the product.
