    摘要: A reach back secure communications terminal includes a modem to satellite interconnect board that captures DTMF tones, demodulates encrypted modem information, and converts both into an ASCII string for presentation to a data port of a satellite phone, allowing out-of-band control of a non-secure satellite system (e.g., AT command control of a data port) by a user on a secure side of an encryption device, by including the ability to interpret control signals and control the satellite system appropriately. A false dial tone is presented to the encryption device, and the data stream coming from the encryption device is monitored for the presence of dual-tone, multi-frequency (DTMF) tones representing control signals, the DTMF tones are converted to ASCII characters, which are in turn received as control signals by the satellite phone, allowing control of the functions of the satellite system directly from the secure side of the encryption device.

    摘要: A user interface to enable subscribers to control dissemination of outgoing information and filter visibility/reception of incoming information, without unduly complicating the interface. The UI enables a subscriber to: assign ranks of trust (ROT) to contacts, stipulate minimum ROT contacts must be assigned to access information shared by the subscriber, and stipulate minimum ROT contacts must be assigned to send information to the subscriber. The UI displays a trusted circle sphere to enable subscribers to assign ROT to contacts. Each line of latitude (LOL) on the sphere represents a separate ROT a contact may be assigned. Contacts are assigned ROT by dragging contact thumbnails onto relevant LOL. The UI additionally displays a ROT graduated color bar to enable subscribers to designate minimum ROT. To designate minimum ROT, a subscriber draws a line from an information item/delivery mechanism displayed on the information control to a ROT on the graduated color bar.

    摘要: A software LBS trigger is initiated by a wireless device to request a set of proximate location information points relating to, e.g., points of interest, location tagged blogs, etc., based on the user's current location. The LBS trigger may be initiated when the user moves, and may include speed of the user to define a proximate area within which the user's device will be presented with relevant location information upon reaching. The size of the proximate area may be based on available memory in the wireless device, and/or on network bandwidth limitations. If walking, a smaller proximate area is defined, or if moving fast, the area of close proximity is larger. The location-based information points are stored locally on the user's device, and presentation to the user when the user gets closely proximate to the relevant information point.

    摘要: An E-9-1-1 voice-over-IP (VoIP) solution is provided wherein a 911 call from a wireless VoIP device is routed directly to the correct Public Safety Answer Point (PSAP) via dedicated trunks, together with correct location information and call-back number. VoIP gateways are implemented locally, at least one per LATA, and accept VoIP packetized data inbound, and convert it to standard wireline voice calls. Calls are routed to an IP address at the VoIP gateway, which then egresses the call to a voice port at a selective router. Dedicated voice trunks (CAMA, SS7, FG-D) are installed between each local VoIP gateway and appropriate selective routers. An Automatic Location Identification (ALI) database is provisioned with ESRKs dedicated for VoIP use. TCP/IP circuits may be established between some or all of the various local VoIP gateways.

The web site lists each live E911 call within their jurisdiction, and appends the caller's ALI and/or other location data relative to each call. Preferably the first responders (e.g., police car, paramedic, ambulance, fire truck, etc.) can view not only the emergency caller's information for those E911 calls that they are responding to, but also information about other emergency callers that other first responders are responding to. This facilitates the actual response to individual emergency calls as well as the overall management of multiple responders to multiple emergency calls.

    摘要: Locating satellites (e.g., GPS) are culled into a preferred group having a longest dwell time based on a time passing through an ellipsoid arc path through a cone of space, and communicated to mobile devices within a particular region (e.g., serviced by a particular base station). The culled locating satellites may select those visible, or more preferably those locating satellites currently within a cone of space above the relevant base station are selected for communication by a mobile device within the service area of the base station. The inverted cone of space may be defined for each antenna structure for any given base station, and each has 360 degrees of coverage, or less than 360 degrees of coverage, with relevant locating satellites. Thus, cell sites may be specifically used as reference points for culling the ephemeris information used to expedite Assisted GPS location determinations.

    摘要: A mobile IP location server that retrieves the location of a mobile device based on the public IP address that a mobile device is using. A mobile IP location server comprises a mobile location protocol interface, an identifier resolver, and a location manager. The mobile location protocol interface interacts with location applications and receives and responds to location requests. The identifier resolver converts a device's public IP address to a real mobile identifier (e.g. MSISDN) and performs address conversion by either interacting with an HTTP proxy server or querying a network address translation (NAT) table. The location manager retrieves the location of a mobile device given the device's real mobile identifier (e.g. MSISDN). A web application requests mobile IP location services by transmitting an IP request to the mobile IP location server. An IP location request contains a mobile device's public IP address, port number, and any application specific information.
