Abstract:
A particular method includes measuring port usage data related to each of a plurality of physical ports associated with a link aggregation group. A bandwidth requirement of a requested media stream is estimated and added to a traffic load at each of the plurality of physical ports to produce an estimated total traffic load of each of the plurality of physical ports. When the requested media stream includes non-video data, the requested media stream is sent to a destination device via a physical port that selected in accordance with a static bandwidth allocation. When the requested media stream includes video data, the requested media stream is sent to the destination device via a least loaded physical port that is dynamically identified based on the estimated traffic loads of each of the plurality of physical ports.
Abstract:
Operation of a spark ignition, direct injection engine having an aftertreatment system including an oxidation catalyst and a selective catalyst reduction device is described. The method includes controlling to a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio and retarding spark ignition timing. Engine fueling is then controlled to a lean air/fuel ratio and spark is retarded. The engine is then operated to generate ammonia reductant. Engine operation then comprises operating at a preferred air/fuel ratio and controlling spark ignition timing to a preferred timing.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for bypassing a load coil in a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) circuit. An interface is provided for making a connection with the DSL circuit and receiving a combined multichannel signal. The combined multichannel signal includes a high frequency or DSL signal and a low frequency signal or voice signal. A high pass filter is utilized to block the voice signal and route the DSL signal over a communications path to bypass the load coil in the DSL circuit. The voice signal is then routed by a low pass filter to the load coil in the DSL circuit.
Abstract:
A bridge plug having a segmented backup shoe, and at least one split cone extrusion limiter, the extrusion limiter comprising a two part conical retainer positioned between packer elements and the segmented backup shoe to block packer element extrusion though spaces between backup shoe segments. In one embodiment, two split cone extrusion limiters are used together and positioned so that each split cone extrusion limiter covers gaps in the other extrusion limiter and together the two split cone extrusion limiters block packer element extrusion though gaps between backup shoe segments regardless of their orientation relative to the segmented backup shoe. In one embodiment, a solid retaining ring is positioned between a split retaining cone extrusion limiter and a packer element and resists extrusion of packer elements into spaces in the split cone extrusion limiter or limiters.
Abstract:
A single switch springless motorized door latch assembly for locking an oven door in a locked and sealed position for purposes of cleaning the oven. The switch is a single pole single throw switch. A motor and cam cause a latch member to move between three different positions. In one position the latch member prevents the oven door from opening. From this position, the latch member is pulled inwardly so the oven door is in a locked and sealed position. In its locked and sealed position the door may not be opened.
Abstract:
An improved fluid flow control valve that allows for conduction of a substantial portion of thermal energy therethrough includes a first portion, a second portion, and a moveable element The first portion includes an aperture for fluid communication with a fluid source. The second portion includes a second aperture, which is at least partially aligned with the first aperture. The moveable element, which is disposed between and spaced from the first and second portions to allow conduction of at least a substantial portion of thermal energy from the first portion to the second portion. The moveable element includes an aperture that at least partially aligns with the first and second apertures when the moveable element is in an open position and that misaligns with at least one of the first and second apertures when the moveable element is in a closed position.
Abstract:
A utility razor blade having a serrated edge. A bottom edge of the razor blade has a left portion and a right portion having a razor edge. A middle portion between the left portion and the right portion is serrated.
Abstract:
A processor and method for treating infectious waste utilizes a processing chamber having an inlet for delivering processing water at an elevated temperature and under pressure into the processing chamber, an opening in the processing chamber for receiving of infectious waste and for removing treated waste, an agitator for opening the waste material to the action of the water at elevated temperature and pressure. A basket and/or a sieve may be carried in the processing chamber to facilitate drainage of spent processing water, and an apparatus may be included for removing neutralized waste through the opening in the processing chamber either by inverting the processor or by removing and inverting the basket and/or sieve.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for processing metal bearing gases involves generating a toroidal plasma in a plasma chamber. A metal bearing gas is introduced into the plasma chamber to react with the toroidal plasma. The interaction between the toroidal plasma and the metal bearing gas produces at least one of a metallic material, a metal oxide material or a metal nitride material.
Abstract:
A method of managing risk in an electronic content insurance system includes an electronic actuarial agent detecting a risk factor present in a computing environment. The method continues with the electronic actuarial agent assigning a probability that the risk factor will be a cause of a loss of a content object stored in the computing environment, and the electronic actuarial agent performing one of notifying a user of the computing environment of the risk factor and acting to mitigate the risk factor.
