Abstract:
A parking meter assembly (10) including a base (11) that is to be fixed to or embedded in a ground surface, typically adjacent the curb that which a car is to be parked. The assembly (10) also includes a parking meter (13) having a front face (17) that includes a coin slot (25) a card slot (20) and a control panel (21). The parking meter (13) further includes a rear face (27) having a window aperture (28) that provides for the transmission of light to a solar panel (29) behind the aperture (28).
Abstract:
Methods for producing a coated optical fiber may include drawing an optical fiber from a draw furnace along a first pathway and redirecting the optical fiber along a second, different pathway which is non-parallel with the first pathway. The optical fiber may be coated as it travels along the second pathway.
Abstract:
A firewall cluster comprises three or more firewall processing nodes, which report primary node status based on the reporting node's membership in a preexisting cluster. A controller uses the reported status to assign a primary node in the distributed firewall cluster. Reported primary node status includes reported primary node eligibility if the node is a member of a preexisting cluster, reported primary node status comprising reporting primary node ineligibility if the node is not a member of a preexisting cluster, reported primary node status if the node is a primary node in a preexisting cluster, and reported primary node eligibility in a node that has timed out
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process of providing the 3-(6-(1-(2,2-difluorobenzo[d][1,3]dioxol-5-yl)cyclopropanecarboxamido)-3-methylpyridin-2-yl)benzoic acid in substantially free form (Compound 1).
Abstract:
A process transmitter for measuring a process variable comprises a sensor module and a static pressure coupling. The sensor module comprises a sensor for measuring a process variable of an industrial process and for generating a sensor signal. The sensor includes a hydraulic fluid inlet within the module. The static pressure coupling is connected to the sensor module and comprises a isolator fitting, a process fluid coupling and an isolation diaphragm. The isolator fitting is inserted into the sensor module and connected to the hydraulic fluid inlet. The process fluid coupling is joined to the isolator fitting. The isolation diaphragm is positioned between the isolator fitting and the process fluid coupling outside of the sensor module.
Abstract:
An applicator having a color gradient. The applicator includes an outer member having a first end, a second end disposed opposite the first end, a longitudinal axis, a length measured along the longitudinal axis, and an exterior surface. The outer member further includes a color gradient extending along at least a portion of the length from a first region to a second region, the color gradient being visible by a user viewing the exterior surface of the outer member.
Abstract:
There are provided according to the invention compounds of formula (I) in free ors salt form, wherein R1, R2, R4, R5, R6, A, D, X, W, m and n are as described in the specification, process for preparing them, and their use as pharmaceuticals.
Abstract:
A tire surface anomaly detection system and method are disclosed. The system and method are generally based on the principle that a tire surface anomaly will have a different heat transfer rate than that of the uniform mass surrounding the tire surface anomaly. Embodiments of the present disclosure apply thermal energy to the surface of a tire and monitor the infrared energy at the surface of the tire to generate one or more infrared images of the surface of the tire. The infrared images are analyzed by an image processing system to determine and locate thermal gradients on the surface of the tire. The presence of a thermal gradient in the infrared images generally indicates the presence of an anomaly in the surface of the tire. In this manner, the present disclosure provides an objective technique for identifying, locating, and classifying tire surface anomalies.
Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to systems and techniques for calibrating displays to improve the white point uniformity between similar type devices. In one embodiment, a backlight includes multiple strings of LEDs, where each string is driven by a separate driver, or driver channel. Each string may be separately tested at a base current to determine its emitted chromaticity, and values indicative of the emitted chromaticities may be stored within the backlight as calibration values. The calibration values may then be used to determine the driving strength for each string that allows the display to produce the target white point when the light from the strings is mixed. Further, in certain embodiments, adjustments also may be made to the LCD panel based on the emitted chromaticities at the base current.
Abstract:
A method, a system, an apparatus, and a computer readable medium for transmission of data across a network are disclosed. The method includes receiving a data stream, analyzing the received data stream to determine a starting location and an ending location of each zone within the received data stream, based on the starting and ending locations, generating a zone stamp identifying the zone, the zone stamp includes a sequence of contiguous characters representing at least a portion of data in the zone, wherein the order of characters in the zone stamp corresponds to the order of data in the zone, comparing the zone stamp with another zone stamp of another zone in any data stream received, determining whether the zone is substantially similar to another zone by detecting that the zone stamp is substantially similar to another zone stamp, delta-compressing zones within any data stream received that have been determined to have substantially similar zone stamps, thereby deduplicating zones having substantially similar zone stamps within any data stream received, and transmitting the deduplicated zones across the network from one storage location to another storage location.
