Abstract:
An acoustic driver assembly for use with any of a variety of cavitation chamber configurations, including spherical and cylindrical chambers as well as chambers that include at least one flat coupling surface, is provided. The acoustic driver assembly includes at least one transducer, a head mass and a tail mass. The end surface of the head mass is shaped so that only a ring of contact is made between the outer perimeter of the head mass of the driver assembly and the cavitation chamber to which the driver is attached. The area of the contact ring is controlled by shaping its surface.
Abstract:
A portable printer which can be removably attached to a variety of models and types of portable devices, such as Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), cell phones, or other terminal devices. The portable devices can be attached to the portable printer via a clip-on adapter, thereby providing a universal clip-on printer. The adapter can take on a variety of shapes to hold the device and is unique for the model and type of each portable device, and contains mating electronic interconnectivity to electrically, wirelessly, or optically connect the portable device to the portable printer to enable communication between the portable device and the portable printer. The portable device connected to the portable printer can operate the portable printer in a controlling relationship.
Abstract:
A temperature indicator for a siding panel senses panel temperature and indicates on a graphic scale the corresponding effect of thermal expansion over differences in temperature. The temperature indicator can be various forms of contact thermometer, temperature strip or sensor and can be integral or temporarily affixed during installation or for later assessment for correct panel gapping. The indicator shows how closely the edge of the panel can be placed to an adjacent surface while avoiding interference over a range of thermal expansion temperatures.
Abstract:
A vehicle has a seat configured to receive a person or object. An array of flexible potentiometers is positioned in the seat to sense the mass or weight and the footprint or profile of that which is in the seat. The flexible potentiometers supply a signal through circuitry to enable or disable an air bag system in the vehicle. The air bag system operates under selected conditions such as what may be experienced in a crash of the vehicle to deploy the air bag to preclude movement of a seat occupant into vehicle structure.
Abstract:
A water heater is made by shielding the space between a tank and a jacket, which space is intended to include a control apparatus accessible from outside the jacket, by making and installing an insulating dam provided of flexible, deformable insulating material, removing corner position from the dam, slitting the block lengthwise with a slit which is surrounded by the block, thereby forming connected body portions, moving the body portions apart from each other, thereby forming an open frame, turning the resulting open frame inside out to form a foam dam, inserting the resulting foam dam around the control apparatus, placing the jacket over the dam and introducing liquid foam forming material into the space between the tank and the jacket.
Abstract:
A horse safety assembly includes a blanket that is draped over an animal. The blanket is comprised of an electrically conductive material. An insulator is coupled to the blanket and the insulator rests on the animal when the blanket is positioned on the animal. The insulator is comprised of an electrically insulating material. A plurality of straps is provided and each of the straps is coupled to the blanket. Each of the straps is selectively matable to each other to retain the blanket on the animal. A shock unit is coupled to the blanket and the shock unit is in electrical communication with the blanket. The shock unit delivers an electrical shock to an attacker when the attacker attacks the animal. In this way the attacker is repelled from the animal.
Abstract:
A wood support protection device for protecting wood supports from water damage includes a tube that defines an interior space. The tube has a top and a bottom. The top is open. The top is complementary to a lower end of a wood support. A plurality of rods is coupled to and extends substantially perpendicularly between opposing sides of the tube. A plurality of slots is positioned in the tube adjacent to the bottom. The top is configured to insert the lower end of the wood support into the interior space. The rods are configured to retain the wooden support above the bottom of the tube. The slots are positioned in the tube such that the slots are configured to drain water from the interior space. The wood support is protected from damage and rot caused by exposure of the lower end of the wood support to water.
Abstract:
A trapping device for trapping non-dispersing cloths in a toilet bowl is disclosed. The trapping device comprises a strap and a plurality of hooks. The trapping device may be installed in a trapway of the toilet bowl. The strap has a first end, a second end, and a middle portion, wherein the first end includes a first tab extending perpendicular to the strap and the second end includes a second tab extending perpendicular to the strap, and the middle portion is rounded. The plurality of hooks extend from an inner wall of the strap. The strap is made of a strap material that is resilient to bend and springs back to its previous shape, such as a stainless steel or a high density polyethylene.
