    Abstract: An optical scrolling module includes a prism, a light source, an image sensor and a first condenser. The prism is disposed at an opening of an upper shell of a mouse and has a light incident surface, a reflective surface, a contact surface and a light emitting surface. The contact and light incident surfaces are respectively connected between the reflective and light emitting surfaces. The contact surface is exposed by the opening. A light beam from the light source is transmitted to the contact surface via the light incident and reflective surfaces. When an object with a pattern structure puts on the contact surface, the light beam is scattered and a portion of the light beam is transmitted to the image sensor via the first condenser. When the object is removed from the contact surface, the light beam is reflected to the light emitting surface by the contact surface.

    Abstract: A defocus calibration module is applied in a light-sensing system utilized for sensing a measured object for generating a sensed image. The light-sensing system comprises a light-emitting component, a focusing component, and an image sensor. The light-emitting component emits a detecting light to the measured object so that the measured object generates a reflecting light. The focusing component focuses the reflecting light to the image sensor. The image sensor generates the sensed image according to the reflecting light. The defocus calibration module has a calibrating object for blocking a part of the detecting light and the reflecting light for forming images at a first and a second calibration imaging locations in the sensed image. In this way, the defocus calibration module calculates a defocus parameter representing the defocus level of the light-sensing system according to the first and the second calibration imaging locations, and accordingly calibrates the sensed image.

    Abstract: An Infrared Radiation (IR) sensing device comprises a lens module, an IR pass filter, and an optical sensor. The lens module is utilized for focusing light. The IR pass filter comprises an optical coating, and a Color Filter Array (CFA) module. The optical coating is utilized for blocking light with wavelength around a predetermined range. The CFA module is utilized for blocking light with wavelength around 400 nm to 780 nm. The optical sensor for absorbing photons of light after being blocked by the IR pass filter on the optical path and accordingly generating an electrical signal. With the help of the CFAs, the range of the wavelength that the optical coating has to block becomes smaller, which greatly reduces the required number of layers of the optical coating.

    Abstract: An input device comprising an optical module having a light guide plate, a light source, a scattering layer and a sensor is provided. The light guide plate has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a side. The light source emits a light to the side. The light travels within the light guide plate. The scattering layer changes a path of parts of the light on the bottom surface so that the light is projected out of the top surface to form a penetrating light. When an object approaches or touches the top surface of the light guide plate, at least a part of the penetrating light is reflected by the object to form a reflected light received by the sensor.
