    Abstract: The present invention provides a water-soluble or water-dispersible polymers. The water -soluble or water-dispersible polymer comprise a first monomer having hydrogen bonding/complexing properties to polyphenols, a second monomer having detergent properties, and a third monomer having hydrogen bonding/complexing properties to polyphenols, wherein the first monomer and the third monomer are the same or different. The present invention also provides oral care compositions comprising the water-soluble or water-dispersible polymers. The present invention also provides methods of cleaning, Whitening arid polishing natural teeth and dental prosthesis and of preventing, reducing or removing surface deposited stains from teeth by administering the oral care compositions. The water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer has a structure: wherein x, y, z, mole %, n, R1, and R2 are defined herein.

    Abstract: Optical imaging systems and methods are disclosed herein for investigating and analyzing one or more characteristics of a spray, including spray front velocity, spray sheet length, spray break-up dynamics, drift potential, and drop-size distribution. Optical imaging systems disclosed herein include an image acquisition device, one or more illumination source, a processor for processing and analyzing image data, a background, and a spray system that includes at least a nozzle. The image acquisition device and illumination sources are positioned on the same side of the spray. The processor has a first algorithm to generate a feedback correction factor and a second algorithm to identify droplets and develop a drop-size distribution for the spray. Optical imaging methods for determining spray characteristics are also disclosed and generally include the steps of providing an imaging system, capturing images of the spray with the imaging system, processing the images, and analyzing the images.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a cosmetic use of a composition comprising a peptide of formula (I) or its derivative for improving physiological functions of the skin comprising the step of contacting skin, skin appendages or epidermal cells including keratinocytes with said composition and increasing the expression of Ubiad1 in such skin, skin appendages or epidermal cells. The invention also relates to a method of increasing the expression of Ubiad1 in skin, skin appendages or epidermal cells including keratinocytes, comprising contacting such skin, skin appendages or epidermal cells with a composition containing the peptide of formula (I) or the derivative thereof. The increased expression of Ubiad1 in the skin, skin appendages or epidermal cells will help for the improvement of the physiological functions of the skin.
