A new method of manufacturing a torque-transmitting clutch component is provided. The method includes coining an interface between a flange segment and a hub segment of the clutch component. Additionally, a torque-transmitting clutch component manufactured by the new manufacturing method is provided.
Abstract:
A method for forming a component utilizing ultra-high strength steel and components formed by the method. The method includes the step of providing a flat blank of ultra-high strength 22MnB5 steel. The next step of the method is, cold forming the flat blank into an unfinished shape of a component while the blank is in an unhardened state. The method continues by providing an inert atmosphere. Then, heating the unfinished shape of the component in the inert atmosphere. The method proceeds by forming a finished shape of the component using a quenching die resulting in a fine-grained martensitic component material structure and enabling net shape processing to establish fmal geometric dimensions of the components.

Each electromagnetic actuator module includes at least one electromagnetic actuator assembly having a coil assembly, a locking strut, and a connection member mechanically interconnected to the locking strut for moving it between released and deployed positions in response to energization of the coil assembly.

A submersible electric pump includes a housing adapted to be submerged within a fluid to be pumped having apertures extending therethrough. An electric motor stator is positioned within the housing in communication with the apertures and is adapted to be in contact with the fluid. Inner and outer pump rotors are positioned within the housing in meshed engagement with one another to pump fluid when rotated. A plurality of permanent magnets are fixed for rotation with the outer rotor.

The present invention is a multiple stage variable displacement vane pump comprising a pressure regulating spring guide. A first spring and a second spring may be controlled by said pressure regulating spring guide. The present invention does not require a solenoid or electronic control. Control of flow and speed is achieved through operable of the pressure regulating spring guide that causes the first spring and second spring to be operable in relation to one another, but for the first spring and the second spring to be operable independently of each other. The springs may be positioned to be inline in relation to each other. Rotation of a slide and pressure exerted thereby upon the pressure regulating spring guide may create a first spring regulation stage and a second spring regulation stage.

A controllable one-way clutch having a clutch module and a power-operated actuator module. The clutch module includes a first clutch component rotatably driven by an input member, a second clutch component rotatably driving an output member, struts disposed on the first clutch component for movement between a deployed position engaging ratchet teeth on the second clutch component and a non-deployed position disengaged from the ratchet teeth, and strut springs for biasing the struts toward their deployed position. The power-operated actuator module includes a coil unit, an armature moveable between an engaged position whereat the armature holds the struts in their non-deployed positions when the coil unit is powered-off and a released position where the armature releases the struts when the coil unit is powered-on, and a ballramp mechanism configured to move the armature along a helical path between its engaged and released positions.

A bi-directional clutch assembly includes an outer race defining first and second strut pockets, an inner race defining ratchet teeth, a passive one-way clutch including at least two passive struts each supported in a corresponding first strut pocket for pivotal movement relative to the ratchet teeth, passive strut springs for normally biasing the passive struts into engagement with the ratchet teeth on the inner race, and a selectable one-way clutch having at least one active strut supported in the second strut pocket for pivotal movement between a non-deployed position disengaged from the ratchet teeth and a deployed position engaged with the ratchet teeth, and an armature ring fixed for rotation with the outer race and axially moveable between a non-actuated position and an actuated position, in which a strut engagement feature moves the active strut from its non-deployed position to its deployed position.
