Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and system of collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, and more particularly, to a method and system of collecting data and grouping the data to determine culture segments and emerging culture trends that influence consumers and identify target affinity groups.
Abstract:
Compounds of formula (I) ##STR1## and salts thereof wherein R.sup.1 is a methyl, ethyl or isopropyl group;R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or a group OR.sup.4 (where OR.sup.4 is a hydroxyl group or a substituted hydroxyl group having up to 25 carbon atoms) and R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom, or (when R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom) a bromine atom; or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together with the carbon atom to which they are attached represent >C.dbd.CH.sub.2, >C.dbd.0 or >C.dbd.NOR.sup.5 (where R.sup.5 is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1-8 alkyl group or a C.sub.3-8 alkenyl group and the group >C.dbd.NOR.sup.5 is in the E configuration); andY represents an oxygen atom or a group NOR.sup.5 (where R.sup.5 is as defined above); with the proviso that when Y is an oxygen atom and R.sup.1 is an isopropyl group, then R.sup.2 is other than hydroxyl group. These compounds may be used for controlling insect, acarine, nematode or other pests.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a method of treating a neurological dysfunction in a mammal using a combination of at least one neurotransmitter enhancer and at least one serotonin receptor antagonist.
Abstract:
Compounds as described having the partial formula ##STR1## These compounds may have a 5--OH or --OMe group and at the 25- position an isopropylene group substituted by methyl, ethyl or isopropyl. The compounds may be used in agriculture or medicine as antiparasitics, and may be prepared by culturing certain Streptomyces strains, in particular Streptomyces thermoarchaensis NC1B 12015.
Abstract:
Compounds are described of the formula ##STR1## and salts thereof, wherein R.sup.1 is methyl, ethyl or isopropyl;R.sup.2 is --H, --OH or substituted --OH and R.sup.3 is --H, or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together with the carbon atom to which they are attached represent C.dbd.CH.sub.2, C.dbd.O or C.dbd.NOR.sup.6 (where R.sup.6 is --H, alkyl or alkenyl and the C.dbd.NOR.sup.6 is in the E configuration);OR.sup.4 is as defined above for OR.sup.5and one of the symbols X represents an epoxide oxygen atom and the other represents an epoxide oxygen atom or a carbon-carbon bond. These compounds may be used for controlling insect, acarine, nematode or other pests.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a filter assembly which includes rigid, perforated stainless steel tubes each of which is received in a removable, nylon mesh bag. Also disclosed is a still for reclaiming dry cleaning solvents which includes a free running auger component which is angularly reciprocated over the base of the still to dislodge the residue of the distillation process so that it can be flushed from the still by hot water.
Abstract:
This invention involves the orthodontic movement of live teeth in the mouth by using the forces of magnets. A magnet is attached to the teeth by conventional methods such as adhesive bonding or dental appliances. The magnets are placed on the teeth in such a manner to employ the attraction and repulsion characteristics of a magnetic field. These forces may be employed to align teeth, tilt teeth, move root positions and angulations, torque teeth, and erupt impacted or partially impacted teeth into the correct position in the mouth. The technique may be used alone or in combination with other conventional orthodontic techniques for either major or minor tooth movement. The magnets may be attached anywhere on a tooth, but preferably in an inconspicuous position. The magnets themselves may have tapered edges to insure the teeth move to the proper position. In the movement of a single tooth normally a magnet will be attached to the single tooth with the other magnet which creates the repulsion or attraction force being attached to several teeth in combination.
Abstract:
An adjustable hinge is disclosed. The adjustable hinge includes a door jamb or frame leaf hinge plate and a door leaf hinge plate. The adjustable hinge includes at least one height adjustment spacer configured to a move a position of the door leaf hinge plate relative to the jamb hinge plate. The jamb or frame leaf incudes a set of holes for receiving spacers or shim buttons for adjusting a spacing of the jamb or frame leaf hinge plate relative to the door jamb. The door leaf hinge plate includes slots for receiving mounting hardware for adjusting a position of the door leaf hinge plate relative to the door's edge.
Abstract:
A method of lithium sorption recovery from natural brines and wastewaters. The method comprises introducing a feed lithium-containing brine to a sorption-desorption concentrating module in a form of a vertically mounted column filled with an inorganic granulated sorbent, being a chlorine-containing lithium aluminum double hydroxide. After the sorption, residual lithium-containing feedstock is drained from the column, then washing is made at a rate of at least 6 column volumes per hour in the amount of 150-250% of the sorbent volume, in the same direction as of the feed lithium-containing brine flow. Then lithium desorption from the sorbent is performed with desalinated water in the same direction as of the feed lithium-containing brine flow to obtain a lithium enriched solution. The obtained solution containing almost pure lithium chloride concentrate. The method results in reduced lithium losses with the washing solution and increased purity of the target LiCl concentrate.
