Abstract:
An automated inspection system comprises a camera configured to capture an image of a subject item, and a processor in communication with the camera and programmed to recognize the subject item in the image. The processor is configured to determine, from the image, the presence, location, or other properties of a feature of the subject item. The processor may present an augmented reality display as an overlay onto a live image of the subject item. The system may include a portable computing device including the camera and a display screen presenting the augmented reality display with one or more overlays onto a live image of the subject item. The overlays may include icons indicating a feature being recognized as being present and non-defective, or an error icon indicating a missing or defective feature. The portable computing device may include an internal illuminator and/or an external illuminator.
Abstract:
A method for manufacture of a metal can body is described in which two or more stretching operations are used so as to reduce the thickness of the central part of a cup base, prior to drawing the cup sidewall and forming a can body. By using two or more stretching operations, it has been found possible to control the thickness of the base without significantly reducing pressure performance of the finished can. Alternative embodiments of apparatus comprising tooling for carrying out this method are also described.
Abstract:
A hydraulic hitch assembly including oppositely directed jaws operable to releasably grip an attachment including two transverse hinge pins, wherein one of the oppositely directed jaws is fixed relative to the hitch assembly, and the other jaw is moveable between a withdrawn position, in which the oppositely directed jaws can be fitted between the two transverse hinge pins of the attachment, and an extended position, in which the two transverse hinge pins are gripped by the oppositely directed jaws, the hydraulic hitch assembly further including a safety mechanism including an arm moveable between an engaged position and a disengaged position, wherein when the arm is in the engaged position, the arm prevents the transverse hinge pin from being released from the fixed jaw.
Abstract:
Assemblies can be disposed in a subterranean bore. An assembly can include a recessed portion in an inner wall and another recessed portion in an outer wall. The recessed portions can each be configured to have a cross-sectional thickness that is less than at least another part of the assembly. The assembly can provide a seal between an inner region defined by the assembly and an environment exterior to the assembly prior to a window being created in the recessed portion in the outer wall through which a branch wellbore can be formed. The recessed portion in the inner wall can guide a cutting tool toward the recessed portion in the outer wall.
Abstract:
A built in purifier for a cylinder of essentially nitrogen free gas having a low water content is provided with a molecular sieve 3A adsorbent to adsorb water from the gas, the 3A adsorbent having a particularly low adsorption capacity for nitrogen.
Abstract:
A system for opening a window in a casing string (42) positioned in a wellbore (32). The system includes a hydraulic pressure intensifier (116) having a housing and a piston assembly with a differential piston area. The piston assembly is longitudinally shiftable relative to the housing and is initially secured relative thereto to prevent longitudinal movement therebetween. An anchor assembly (114) is operable to longitudinally secure the hydraulic pressure intensifier (116) within the casing string (42). A window opening tool (118) operably associated with the hydraulic pressure intensifier (116) is operably engagable with the casing string (42) such that when the anchor assembly (114) is longitudinally secured within the casing string (42) and the piston assembly is unsecured relative to the housing under hydrostatic pressure, longitudinal movement of the piston assembly transmits a force to the window opening tool (118), thereby opening the window in the casing string (42).
Abstract:
A combustor includes a first wall, a second wall, an injector grommet, a combustor longitudinal axis, and a connection assembly indirectly connecting the first wall to the second wall. A portion of the injector grommet is disposed within a groove of the connection assembly.
Abstract:
A container (1) having a first compartment (3) and a second compartment (5) separated by a movable gas impermeable partition (7) is used for storing and dispensing a gas for use in a process and receiving and storing a gas recovered from the process. Fresh gas is dispensed (9) from the first compartment (3) for use in a process and recovered gas is fed (11) to the second compartment (5), whereby a volume of the second gas displaces a volume of the first gas by movement of the partition (7) to enlarge the second compartment (5) relative to the first compartment (3).
Abstract:
A coating composition comprising a crosslinkable binder in an organic solvent, the binder composed of acrylic and polyester polyols plus a crosslinking agent, the polyester polyol containing a component derived from one or both of: a residue of dimer fatty acid and polyol, or residue of a polyacid and dimer alcohol, the composition being useful for coating metallic substrates.
Abstract:
In a telecommunications system employing modulated optical signals, a highway is formed from optical fibres and a source of coherent light or other electromagnetic radiation of an adjacent frequency band is connected to one end of the highway. One or more modulators are connected to the highway at intermediate positions along its length, the or each modulator being arranged to periodically vary the optical path length of the highway. A demodulator is connected to the other end of the highway.
