The present invention provides a liquid crystal panel in which warping is controlled. The liquid crystal panel includes a liquid crystal cell 20, a first polarizing film 31 disposed on a viewer side of the liquid crystal cell 20 and a second polarizing film 32 disposed on a side of the liquid crystal cell 20 opposite to the viewer side. A thickness (d1) of the first polarizing film 31 is smaller than a thickness (d2) of the second polarizing film 32.

A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for an optical film of the invention includes a (meth)acryl-based polymer(A), a polyether compound (B) having a polyether skeleton and a reactive silyl group and an ionic compound (C). The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for an optical film has an antistatic function and can form a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer durable enough under severe conditions.

A liquid crystal panel has a first optical film (4) adhered to a viewing side of a liquid crystal cell (2) through a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (3), and a second optical film (6) adhered to the reverse side of the liquid crystal cell (2) through a second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (5). A creep value (L1) of the first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (3) is from 50 to 3000 μm. A creep value (L2) of the second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (5) is from 10 to 400 μm. The creep value (L1) of the first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (3) is larger than the creep value (L2) of the second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (5). The creep value means the shift amount after one hour of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer having a thickness of 20 μm in a case where a tensile shearing force of 4.9 N is applied to an adhesive area of 10 mm2 at 23° C.

The invention relates to a pressure-sensitive adhesive for an optical film, comprising 0.02 to 2 parts by weight of a peroxide (B) and 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of an isocyanate-based compound (C) contained in 100 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylic polymer (A) consisting primarily of an alkyl(meth)acrylate and not containing a functional group reactive with an isocyanate group. By using the invented pressure-sensitive adhesive for an optical film, there can be obtained a pressure sensitive adhesion type optical film that can suppress warping and light leakage caused by a stress accompanying a dimensional change of members such as an optical film, has high durability, is excellent in handling ability in the manufacturing process and is excellent in quality.

It is an object of the invention to provide a pressure sensitive adhesive for an optical film with which a pressure sensitive adhesive type optical film capable of suppressing bowing and light leakage caused by a stress accompanying a dimensional change of members such as an optical film, high in durability, excellent in handling ability in an aspect of a fabrication process thereof and good in quality can be obtained. There is provided a pressure sensitive adhesive for an optical film comprising: 100 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylic-based polymer (A) including an alkyl (meth)acrylate (a1) and a (meth)acrylic-based monomer containing a hydroxyl group (a2), as a copolymerizable component, in content in the range of from 0.01 to 5 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the alkyl (meth)acrylate (a1); 0.02 to 2 parts by weight of a peroxide (B); and 0.001 to 2 parts by weight of an isocyanate-based compound (C), the contents of the peroxide (B) and the isocyanate-based compound (C) being values relative to 100 parts by weight of the (meth)acrylic-based polymer (A).
