Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to user interfaces for recording and playing audio and video. In one example, a first application requests a second application to initiate recording one or more data streams of the first application. The second application displays a confirmation affordance. In response to detecting activation of the confirmation affordance, the second application initiates a recording of at least one of the data stream of the first application.
Abstract:
An electronic device: displays a home button configuration user interface with a plurality of different tactile output settings for the home button. While displaying the home button configuration user interface, the device detects selection of a respective tactile output setting. In response to detecting a first input of a first type on the home button (while the respective tactile output setting is selected), the device determines whether the respective tactile output setting is a first or a second tactile output setting for the home button. If the respective tactile output setting is the first tactile output setting, the device provides a first tactile output without dismissing the home button configuration user interface. If the respective tactile output setting is the second tactile output setting, the device provides a second tactile output without dismissing the home button configuration user interface.
Abstract:
An electronic device with one or more processors and memory includes a procedure for enabling conversation persistence across two or more instances of a digital assistant. In some embodiments, the device displays a first dialogue in a first instance of a digital assistant user interface. In response to a request to display a user interface different from the digital assistant user interface, the device displays the user interface different from the digital assistant user interface. In response to a request to invoke the digital assistant, the device displays a second instance of the digital assistant user interface, including displaying a second dialogue in the second instance of the digital assistant user interface, where the first dialogue remains available for display in the second instance of the digital assistant user interface.
Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to the use of loyalty accounts, private label payment accounts, and general payment accounts using an electronic device with an electronic wallet. Various accounts are linked to the electronic device. In some examples, the electronic device is NFC-enabled. The electronic device may be used to provide loyalty account information and payment account information to a payment terminal, such as an NFC-enabled payment terminal.
Abstract:
An electronic device with one or more processors and memory includes a procedure for training a digital assistant. In some embodiments, the device detects an impasse in a dialog between the digital assistant and a user including a speech input. During a learning session, the device utilizes a subsequent clarification input from the user to adjust intent inference or task execution associated with the speech input to produce a satisfactory response. In some embodiments, the device identifies a pattern of success or failure associated with an aspect previously used to complete a task and generates a hypothesis regarding a parameter used in speech recognition, intent inference or task execution as a cause for the pattern. Then, the device tests the hypothesis by altering the parameter for a subsequent completion of the task and adopts or rejects the hypothesis based on feedback information collected from the subsequent completion.
Abstract:
A media channel can include a mix of media items and invitational content items. At some point during the playback of the media channel an invitational content item can be presented. In some cases, the invitational content items eligible for presentation can be of differing types, such as video and audio. In can be advantageous to restrict presentation of video invitational content items to times when a user is likely to view the screen of the client device during playback of the invitational content item. To accomplish this one or more heuristics or rules can be applied to client device data to predict a user attention level. The user attention level can then be correlated to an invitational content item type, which can then be used to select an invitational content item for playback.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a fingerprint sensor displays a fingerprint enrollment interface and detects, on the fingerprint sensor, a plurality of finger gestures performed with a finger. The device collects fingerprint information from the plurality of finger gestures performed with the finger. After collecting the fingerprint information, the device determines whether the collected fingerprint information is sufficient to enroll a fingerprint of the finger. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device enrolls the fingerprint of the finger with the device. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is not sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device displays a message in the fingerprint enrollment interface prompting a user to perform one or more additional finger gestures on the fingerprint sensor with the finger.
Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to techniques for managing contextual transactions. In some examples, at a sender electronic device, a first user provides authorization to purchase an item for a second user. In some examples, at a recipient device, the second user selects one or more attributes for the item and requests to claim the item. In some examples, an electronic device displays a representation of an item and a purchase affordance for purchasing the item using a payment system that is available on the electronic device.
Abstract:
Techniques for triggering an action associated with a task items are provided. A task item associated with a triggering criterion is provided. The triggering criterion requires an occurrence of any of a plurality of communication events. The plurality of communication events includes a telephone call. In some implementations, at least two of the plurality of communication events are of different communication types. In some implementations, the different types are telephone calls, emails, and text messages. The occurrence of a first communication event of the plurality of communication events is detected. It is determined the triggering criterion is satisfied. In response to the determining, a notification associated with the task item is caused to be presented to a user of the electronic device.
Abstract:
A data processing system that, in one embodiment, uses smart reminders to allow a user to decline an incoming phone or messaging call and to cause the system to set a smart reminder about the call. In one embodiment, the system can use the system's current state or context (e.g. the system is in a car or is playing a movie) to determine the type of reminder options to present to the user and to determine when to trigger the reminder based on the reminder option that is selected by the user.
