Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for interfaces for creating radio-based private networks. In one embodiment, a request is received via an interface to create a radio-based private network for a customer. The request indicates a quantity of wireless devices that will connect to the radio-based private network. A quantity of radio units to serve the radio-based private network is determined based at least in part on the quantity of wireless devices. The radio units are preconfigured to implement a radio access network for the radio-based private network. A shipment is initiated to the customer of the radio units that have been preconfigured. Resources in a cloud provider network are provisioned to function as a core network for the radio-based private network.

Abstract: Techniques for API-based endpoint discovery and centralized load balancing involving provider substrate extension resources are described. A discovery coordinator service located within a provider network can identify one or more endpoints from a set of potentially distributed endpoints for a client to utilize, where endpoints may be located within provider substrate extensions of the provider network. The discovery coordinator service can analyze the loads of these endpoints, via client lease information, to identify nearby, low-load resources that may be most optimal for the client to use via providing minimal latency of access.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments that provide highly available data-processing network functions for radio-based networks. In one embodiment, a tunnel host consistently routes network traffic associated with a range of network addresses in a radio-based network to a first instance of a data-processing network function instead of a second instance of the data-processing network function. A problem with the first instance of the data-processing network function is then detected. Additional network traffic associated with the range of network addresses is redirected from the first instance of the data-processing network function to the second instance of the data-processing network function.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for on-demand application-driven network slicing. In one embodiment, it is determined that an application implemented in a particular computing device has an increased quality-of-service requirement in order to send or receive data via a communications network. The increased quality-of-service requirement is greater than an existing quality-of-service provided to the application by the communications network. The application sends a request that causes capacity in a network slice having the increased quality-of-service requirement in the communications network to be allocated for the application. The data is transmitted to or from the application using the network slice.

In one embodiment, a request to provision a radio-based network for a customer by a provider according to a network plan is received via an application programming interface (API) of a cloud provider network. Abstract: Technology is described for sending messages between device groups. A message may be generated at a first device group. The first device group may include a plurality of edge devices that is executing a first process. The message may be sent from the first edge device in the first device group to a source controller edge device in the first device group. A logical group address associated with the message may be added. The logical group address may identify a second device group that is to receive the message. The second device group may include a plurality of edge devices that is executing a second process. The message may be sent from the source controller edge device in the first device group to a destination controller edge device in the second device group over an overlay grouping network between the first device group and the second device group.

Abstract: Technology for content distribution in wireless mesh network is described. In one embodiment, the wireless mesh network includes a plurality of mesh nodes, wherein each of the mesh nodes includes a content agent configured to receive a content command from a cloud computing content management service communicatively coupled to the wireless mesh network, the content command identifying one or more segments of a media content file corresponding to a media title to be stored on the mesh node. Each mesh node includes a storage system configured to store the one or more segments of the media content file specified in the content command. Each mesh node further includes a content server configured to service requests for playback of the media title from one or more mesh clients. The mesh nodes also include a mesh communication component configured to communicate with other mesh nodes in the wireless mesh network to retrieve segments of the media content file stored on the other nodes.
