Abstract:
The invention relates to a molding device (1) and a method for the manufacture of structured or semistructured composite components comprising a polymer resin (50) and a fibrous substrate (51). According to the invention, the device comprises a mold (2) comprising a bottom and a lateral surface, a part (10) that is movable along the lateral surface of the mold, comprising a compression surface (14) forming a cavity (7) with the bottom and the lateral surface (5) of said mold (2), characterized in that the movable part (10) comprises a vacuum-drawing channel (13, 23) opening into a chamber (25, 42) located above the cavity and communicating with said cavity (7).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a liquid (meth)acrylic syrup for impregnating a fibrous substrate. The present invention relates in particular to a viscous liquid syrup mainly containing methacrylic or acrylic components. The invention also relates to a process for manufacturing such a syrup. The invention also relates to a process for impregnating a fibrous substrate comprising long glass fibers with said viscous liquid syrup. The invention also relates to a fibrous substrate preimpregnated with said syrup, which is useful for manufacturing transparent parts especially for the building sector. The present invention also relates to a manufacturing process for manufacturing transparent parts obtained via this process.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an impregnation process for a fibrous substrate, a liquid composition for implementing this process and the obtained impregnated fibrous substrate. The impregnated fibrous substrate is suitable for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles. In particular the present invention deals with an industrial process for impregnating a fibrous substrate or long fibers with a viscous liquid composition containing mainly methacrylic or acrylic components. This viscous composition is called hereafter liquid (meth) acrylic syrup. The invention concerns also a fibrous substrate pre-impregnated with said syrup which is useful for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles. More particular the impregnation of fibrous substrate with the (meth) acrylic syrup is achieved in a closed mold. The present invention concerns also manufacturing process for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles and three-dimensional mechanical or structured parts obtained by this process.
Abstract:
Method for producing a multilayer composite material, according to which said multilayer composite material, multilayer composite material obtained by the method and mechanical parts or structures produced with said material. The present invention concerns a method for producing a multilayer composite material, according to which said multilayer composite material comprises one or a plurality of thermoplastic polymer layers, one of which is a surface layer (1) comprising a thermoplastic polymer A, and comprises a substrate layer (2) comprising a thermoplastic (meth)acrylic polymer matrix and a fibrous reinforcing material, said method involving cutting at least one window in the thermoplastic polymer layer or layers and at least one window in the fibrous material, said windows being intended to coincide; impregnating the fibrous material with a liquid (meth)acrylic syrup such that it fills said windows, or inserting a transparent thermoplastic plate into said window; polymerizing the liquid (meth)acrylic syrup impregnating the fibrous material and present in the absence of a thermoplastic plate in the window or windows. The invention is applicable applies to the production of mechanical parts of structured elements or decorative items made from multilayer composite material and requiring transparent windows.
