摘要: A sodium ion sensor having a composite electrolyte is disclosed. The sodium ion sensor has an outer electrolyte which is insensitive to water and has a high transport activity for sodium ions and an inner electrolyte which is a thin membrane having a very high sodium ion selectivity. The sodium ion sensor having such an electrolyte is sensitive only to the transport of sodium ions and may be operated in aqueous solutions without buffering and in the presence of other alkali ions and alkaline earth metal ions. Sensors of this type operate in EMF mode to give a substantially instantaneous determination of the sodium ion concentration of the aqueous medium being analyzed. The sensor may be used as an on-line sensor directly exposed to the medium to be analyzed.

摘要: A leak detector employing an ion-conducting membrane is disclosed. A labelled-gas ion conducting membrane which employs a high vacuum on one side is used to detect very small quantities of said labelled-gas flowing through a minute fissure in a part or device to be tested for leaks. The labelled-gas ion conducting membrane is biased with direct current voltage to drive the labelled-gas ions through the membrane away from the high vacuum side.

摘要: A wound therapy device is disclosed. The wound therapy device may include a housing for covering at least a portion of a wound and for sealing to a body surface of a patient. The housing may also include a liquid collector for retaining liquid therein and a vacuum connection for coupling to a vacuum source. The vacuum connection may be in gaseous communication with the liquid collector. The vacuum connection may be separated from the liquid collector by a liquid barrier.

摘要: An on-demand fluid dispenser to dispense fluid in response to gas generation by a gas cell. The on-demand fluid dispenser includes an expandable gas chamber, a fluid chamber, and an on-demand gas cell. The expandable gas chamber includes a moveable plunger forming a wall of the expandable gas chamber. The moveable plunger also forms a wall of the fluid chamber. The on-demand gas cell is configured to generate the gas on demand. The on-demand gas cell is also configured to direct the gas to the expandable gas chamber to expand the expandable gas chamber. Expansion of the expandable gas chamber moves the moveable plunger to reduce a volume of the fluid chamber and to dispense an amount of fluid from the fluid chamber.

摘要: A method for wound-healing is disclosed where the method comprises providing a housing forming a cavity, the cavity comprising at least one opening configured to encompass at least a portion of a wound region of a patient. The method includes sealing a perimeter of the at least one opening to a surface of the patient proximate the wound region and absorbing a wound fluid in the cavity. A chamber is provided in communication with the cavity, and would fluid is electrochemically removed from the cavity into the chamber.
