Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and establishing fluid communication between body lumens. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices and methods for establishing a controlled flow or access passage between body lumens. For example, a device may include an elongate tubular body defining a lumen along a length thereof. The elongate tubular body may have an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration. In the expanded configuration, a proximal portion of the elongate tubular body may expand into a proximal retention member and a distal portion of the elongate tubular body may expand into a distal retention member, leaving a cylindrical saddle region extending therebetween. The cylindrical saddle region may include a constricted portion configured to move between a first diameter configuration and a second diameter configuration larger than the first diameter configuration.

Abstract: Medical devices and methods for using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device includes a scaffold including an inner surface, an outer surface, a proximal end region, a distal end region, a lumen extending from the proximal end region to the distal end region, and a retention member extending radially away from the outer surface. The retention member has a distally facing surface and a proximally facing surface. A membrane is disposed within the lumen of the tubular scaffold and is secured to the inner surface of the tubular scaffold at a first circumferential attachment region and at a second circumferential attachment region. Further, the membrane is unattached to the inner surface of the tubular scaffold between the first circumferential attachment region and the second circumferential attachment region to define a tissue ingrowth region between the inner surface of the tubular scaffold and an outwardly-facing surface of the membrane.

Abstract: A system for maintaining patency of a body lumen may include a first endoprosthesis configured to shift from a straightened configuration to a helical configuration defining a plurality of loops, and a second endoprosthesis configured to shift from a radially collapsed configuration toward a radially expanded configuration. The plurality of loops defines a passage having an inner diameter. At least a portion of the second endoprosthesis is disposed within the passage in the radially expanded configuration. A method of maintaining patency of a body lumen may include advancing a first endoprosthesis into a first body lumen in a straightened configuration, deploying the first endoprosthesis within the first body lumen in a helical configuration defining a plurality of loops, advancing a second endoprosthesis into the first body lumen in a radially collapsed configuration, and shifting the second endoprosthesis to a radially expanded configuration within the plurality of loops.
