摘要: A removable spacing stabilizer for a jaw meter bus assembly having two pairs of generally parallel flat, elongated busses, each bus having a cantilevered second leg. The removable spacing stabilizer includes a generally planar member made from a generally rigid, non-conductive material. The planar member has a positioning slot for each of the bus cantilevered second legs. Whereby the planar member may be coupled to said jaw meter bus assembly with each bus cantilevered leg disposed in a positioning slot and whereby the bus cantilevered legs are held in a selected orientation.

摘要: A disease detection device and method for detection or diagnosis of abnormal immunological activity is disclosed. The device is configured to detect the surface temperature of one or more hominid fingernails, thumbnails, or toenails by non-contact means and compare the temperature(s) detected to at least one second non-contact temperature measurement from the same subject, or to the nominal internal body temperature of the subject. The temperatures could be detected by non-contact electronic sensors, thermo-sensitive linear array sensors, or two-dimensional thermographic imagers. The device further comprises a computing device which executes instructions to compare the nail temperature(s) to the other temperature(s). The magnitude and polarity of the temperature difference of the nail(s) to the other temperature measurement(s) or the nominal internal body temperature of the subject indicates the presence of various pathological states, especially autoimmune, acute immune, drug-induced pathology, and various neurological, circulatory, traumatic, arthritic, and local infectious disorders of the hand.

摘要: Architecture that provides a secure environment in which data (e.g., code, instructions, files, images, etc.) can be opened and run by a client application. Once opened the data can be viewed (in a “protected view”) by the user without incurring risk to other client processing and systems. Accordingly, the architecture mitigates malicious attacks by enabling users to preview untrusted and potentially harmful data (e.g., files) in a low risk manner. Files opened in the protected view are isolated from accessing key resources on the client computer and provides the user a safer way to read files that can contain dangerous content. The protected view also provides a seamless user experience. The user is unaware that the client is operating on data in a different mode and allows for the reduction of security prompts.

摘要: A design method for making a bituminous mixture that is used to form a vapor-permeable layer of pavement is provided. This design procedure includes preparing one or more bituminous mixture test specimens, measuring the performance of these specimens, and selecting a desirable bituminous mixture for paving that is vapor-permeable based on the performance of the specimens. Another aspect of the present invention is the selected bituminous mixture, which includes aggregate and a bituminous binder. The aggregate may be selected such that no more than about 5% by mass of the aggregate and preferably no more than about 3.5% by mass of the aggregate is able to pass through a 75 μm sieve. The selected bituminous mixture may have an Air Permeability Value that is at least about 8 cm2 so as to reduce its propensity for blistering during and after construction. Still further, the selected bituminous mixture may have desirable fatigue resistance and may be substantially water-impermeable.

The battery (10) includes a fluid consuming cell (20) having a cell housing with fluid entry ports for the passage of a fluid into the cell housing. A first fluid consuming electrode and a second electrode are disposed within the cell housing. The fluid regulating system (50) includes a valve having a moving plate (66) disposed adjacent to a fixed plate (62). The moving plate and fixed plate both have fluid entry ports (68, 64) that align in an open valve position and are misaligned in a closed valve position. The fluid regulating system (50) also includes an actuator that may include one or more shape memory alloy (SMA) components (82a, 82b) for moving the moving plate (66) relative to the fixed plate (62) to open and close the valve.

摘要: Laser scanners are used for determining deformation in vehicle bodies and the like, using a laser scanning apparatus in conjunction with a plurality of coded targets suspended from (or in known relationship to) known reference points on the vehicle to calculate three dimensional spatial coordinates defining the actual positions of the targets, and to compare such calculated positions with manufacturer-provided specification values. The present invention provides improved signal collection through the use of an independent synchronization circuit that uses a fiber optic cable for signal collection; improved component isolation through the use of a mounting plate and isolation mounts; improved component alignment through the use of easier and more reliable alignment mechanisms; and improved data collection and processing through the use of onboard data averaging and filtering.

摘要: A door module includes a bracket having a hinge portion which permits alignment of the handle support of the door module with a door shell attachment portion. The hinge portion of the bracket comprises a flexible strip that allows the bracket to flex between a first and installed position. To install the door module, the hinge portion of the bracket is flexed to the first position such that additional clearance is provided between the door module and the door shell. The door module is located in the door shell and aligned with the door shell attachment portion. The hinge portion is released to the installed position and the handle support is secured to an outside handle.
