    Abstract: A mated connector assembly includes: a first connector assembly, comprising a plurality of first coaxial connectors mounted on a mounting structure and a first shell; and a second connector assembly, comprising a plurality of second coaxial connectors, each of the second coaxial connectors connected with a respective coaxial cable and mated with a respective first coaxial connector. The second connector assembly includes a second shell surrounding the second coaxial connectors, the second shell defining a plurality of electrically isolated cavities, each of the second coaxial connectors being located in a respective cavity. In in a mated condition the second shell resides within the first shell.

    Abstract: A right angle coaxial connector includes: an inner contact comprising a post configured to mate with a mating coaxial cable jack, the inner contact further including a finger having a pin, the pin extending in a direction generally perpendicular to the post; an outer conductor body including a housing section and a mating ring configured to mate with the mating coaxial cable jack; a first dielectric spacer interposed between the post of the inner contact and the mating ring of the outer conductor body; and a second dielectric spacer interposed between the housing section of the outer conductor body and the finger of the inner contact. The second dielectric spacer includes a slot in which the finger and at least a portion of the pin reside.

    Abstract: A coaxial cable-connector assembly comprising: (a) a coaxial cable; (b) a coaxial connector; (c) a rear body; and (d) a coupling nut. The coaxial cable comprises: an inner conductor; a dielectric layer circumferentially surrounding the inner conductor; an outer conductor circumferentially surrounding the dielectric layer; and a jacket circumferentially surrounding the outer conductor. The coaxial connector comprises: an inner contact electrically connected with the inner conductor; an outer body spaced apart from and circumferentially surrounding the inner contact; and a dielectric spacer interposed between the inner contact and the outer body. The rear body has a main section, a rear collet extending rearwardly from the main section, and a front engagement structure that coordinates with the outer body to engage the outer conductor. The nut has a threaded section and a tapered inner surface. Engagement of the nut with a threaded section on one of the rear body and the outer body advances the nut forwardly so that the tapered inner surface of the nut deflects the rear collet to engage the cable jacket.

    Abstract: A method of forming a joint between a coaxial cable and, a coaxial connector includes the steps of: preparing a cable having an inner conductor, a dielectric, a corrugated outer conductor surrounding the dielectric layer, and a jacket such that an end of the inner conductor is exposed, an end of the outer conductor is exposed arid is flattened to form a ring devoid of corrugations, and a portion of the dielectric layer is cored out to form a solder chamber between the inner conductor and the ring of the outer conductor; preparing an assembly comprising a coaxial connector comprising an inner contact, a dielectric spacer, and an outer conductor body having a tail, with a solder preform encircling the tail; inserting the tail and solder preform into the solder chamber; and melting the solder preform to create a joint between the ring and the tail.
