Abstract: A computing device includes a processor and memory storing instructions that are executable to determine a median of a first mixture distribution. The instructions are also executable to determine a parent mean, a parent standard deviation, and boundaries for each of multiple segments in the first mixture distribution. The instructions are also executable to determine a segment mean and a segment second moment for each segment based on the parent mean, the parent standard deviation, and the boundaries for the respective segment. The instructions are also executable to determine a scaled probability for each segment. The instructions are also executable to determine a mixture mean and a mixture standard deviation for the first mixture distribution based on the segment mean, the segment second moment, and the scaled probability for each segment in the first mixture distribution.

The method comprises: selecting a new protection point in a dynamic protection area; creating an initial sort list of radios; determining look angles; determining which look angle includes most radios in its main beam; determining a modified sort list and an initial move list for the determined look angle; determining a certain percentile of aggregate interference power spectral density at the new protection point for radios that are in a main beam for each of remaining look angles; sorting, by level of certain percentile of aggregate interference power spectral density, the remaining look angles; and generating a move list of radios.

Abstract: Techniques for modelling a radio network in a geographic region utilizing shared spectra are disclosed. Population data is obtained for the geographic region. A number of radios per channel in the geographic region, N′, is determined. Candidate geographic location for radios in the geographic region are determined. For every channel in the shared spectra, at least one of a static dataset and a dynamic dataset is determined. At least one set of output data, that is a statistical characterization of the radio network, is generated using at least one of the static dataset and the dynamic dataset, to aid in design of the radio network.

Abstract: A method for detecting interference in a wireless system is disclosed. The method includes receiving an uplink signal at a remote radio head in a distributed base station, passing the uplink signal from the remote radio head to a baseband unit over a front-haul communication link as baseband IQ data, and intercepting the baseband IQ data at a tester coupled between the remote radio head and the baseband unit. Processing of the IQ data is performed to determine whether an interfering signal is present in the uplink signal.

Abstract: A system and method for determining transmission delay in a communications system. In some embodiments, satellite positioning information having System Frame Number (SFN) information may be received for a mobile device and observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) measurements may be received for a mobile device. A location of the mobile device may be determined as a function of the received satellite positioning information. A Global Positioning System (GPS) time estimate may be determined as a function of the determined location of the mobile device. Transmission delay between a node serving the mobile device and an antenna serving the mobile device may be determined as a function of the received OTDOA measurements and determined GPS time estimate.
