Abstract:
A rotary combustion engine with at least one working unit, which has essentially a peripheral engine housing, a side housing plate on one side, a side housing plate on the power takeoff side, a triangular piston, and an eccentric shaft. The piston is configured of several parts, which are connected to each other. The connection is accomplished by electron-beam welding under vacuum, which yields excellent results as long as certain conditions are met. The one sidewall and the power takeoff sidewall of the piston are preferably welded to a piston housing, as a result of which the casting molds can be of simpler design and simpler contours can be used, which leads to welds of higher quality and to a decrease in the costs of casting.
Abstract:
In a trochoidal design rotary piston engine, side disks are intended to be assembled from one cast side section and a cover disk, where the side section and the cover disks are used in a sealing function. The side section includes cast in reinforcing ribs on a side thereof facing away from the engine combustion chamber.
Abstract:
A trochoidal design rotary piston engine design has an external axis cogwheel oil pump which has a smaller diameter drive cogwheel which drives a larger diameter size cogwheel where the larger diameter size cogwheel is coupled to an oil-metering pump. The larger cogwheel is supported in a side disk disposed at one side of an engine housing forming a combustion engine.
Abstract:
A rotary piston internal combustion engine of trochoidal-type of construction with a slidably journalled piston controlled by a synchronous transmission gear drive unit, with which the synchronous transmission gear drive unit is covered coinciding with an insert part threaded with respect to the remaining machine parts adjacent to the eccentric. The insert part has a hollow cylinder covering the hollow gear of the synchronous transmission gear drive unit eccentric to the eccentric shaft, which hollow cylinder is sealed-off with a sealing ring relative to one shoulder of the piston, as well as a further hollow cylinder coaxial to the eccentric shaft surrounding the holding part for the pinion with a gap or space therebetween, which further hollow cylinder projects into a shaft bore in the side part and is sealed-off relative thereto by a sealing ring. Upon another bearing side there is provided an annular chamber sealed-off relative to the remaining machining spaces or chambers and from which annular chamber the oil discharging from the bearing is conveyed through the cooling chambers of the piston to the synchronous transmission gear drive unit. The oil is discharged through a gap space in a discharge passage or channel in the sidewall formed by the coaxial hollow cylinder.
Abstract:
An axial sealing arrangement in a rotary-piston engine, comprising a sealing member that is, for example, made of metal, and is inserted into a groove in one surface of an engine component while it bears against the wall of a surface of a second component that moves relative to the first component. On that surface that bears against the low-pressure side wall of the groove, and on that portion facing the base of the groove, the sealing member is provided with a rounded ledge via which it bears against the low-pressure side wall of the groove. In addition, on that side facing the opposite contact surface, the sealing member is provided with recesses which extend transversely with respect to the longitudinal extension of the sealing member, and which may communicate with a groove extending beside the rounded ledge. The recesses open toward the opposite contact surface and thus into the clearance that is to be sealed. The sealing member may be manufactured by rolling a strip between two profiling rollers.
Abstract:
A rotary piston internal combustion engine of trochoidal type of construction having a housing that consists of dual-curvature mantle runway and side parts, such housing having an eccentric shaft passing therethrough as well as having a triangular piston upon an eccentric of the eccentric shaft, such triangular piston having sealing parts rotating in continuous sliding engagement along a mantle runway in a planetary movement wherein the eccentric shaft is made hollow. The eccentric shaft is produced in a hydraulic pressure procedure. The eccentric shaft is lengthened and extended at an open end thereof via a pipe or tube pressed in the open end and coaxial therewith so as to extend beyond the shaft bearing or receiving of circulating pumps as well as output gears for additional auxiliary devices employable therewith. An end of the eccentric shaft extending beyond the shaft bearing has openings for inlet and discharge of fluid or liquid cooling medium.
Abstract:
A liquid or fluid cooled housing of a rotary piston internal combustion engine of trochoidal type of construction consisting of side parts and a dual-arc housing inner surfacing and having an eccentric shaft passing through the side parts. A triangular piston rotates upon an eccentric mounted on the eccentric shaft and corners of the triangular piston are in sliding engagement along the housing inner surfacing. A connection tube is provided supplying cooling medium into the individual housing sections. A series connection of the cooling medium circulation is produced between a first side part in direction of cooling medium flow and a first housing part as well as between a center part and a second housing part respectively having a closure disc installed therewith. Perforations are provided for pressure equalization in the closure discs. For production of a parallel connection of cooling medium circulation between a first side disc in a direction of cooling medium flow and a first housing part there is installed a shutter and further shutters are provided between the first housing part and a center part as well as between the center part and a second housing part in flow direction and between a second housing part and a second side part. Parts are interchangeable irrespective of series and parallel cooling medium circulation. A by-pass for cooling of an eccentric shaft and eccentric bearings thereof branches off independently of series or parallel connection of the cooling medium circulation.
Abstract:
A rotary piston compressor with a dual-arc trochoidal casing surface runway or path. The corners of a piston having three flanks or sides and rotating on an eccentric of an eccentric shaft are provided with radial sealing strips which are in continuous sliding contact with the runway. Overflow or transfer recesses are provided in a housing via which the already closed-off following or trailing working chamber, which is created in the region of the dead center position, is connected briefly with the preceding compression chamber. The leading corners of each of three flanks of the piston are bevelled or chamfered radially inwardly and toward the grooves of the radial sealing strips. The leading corners of each of the three flanks of the piston are cut off in planes which intersect in a straight line that lies in the radial central plane of the piston externally of the piston, and at right angles to a straight line which extends in the radial central plane of the piston through the axis of rotation of the piston, and through the sealing strip, which passes through the planes.
Abstract:
An external axis rotary piston compressor having a housing formed with at least two overlapping, parallel-axis cylindrical inner chambers each having a shaft passing therethrough. On the one shaft there is a cylindrical working rotor forming an annular working chamber with the housing wall surrounding the same, and including a shutoff tooth or projection. On the other shaft, which rotates counter thereto, there is provided a cylindrical shutoff rotor which runs along the housing wall and rides on the working rotor; this shutoff rotor includes a recess for engagement-free passage of the shutoff tooth or projection therethrough. The body of the working rotor is a hollow cylinder; when the hollow cylinder rotates, a port or control opening provided in the shutoff tooth or projection coincides with a further port or control opening located in a stationary sleeve arranged in the hollow cylinder, which is mounted in a first side part of the housing and is rigidly and coaxially connected with the drive shaft mounted in the other side part. An inlet opening is provided for the working gas into the suction chamber in the rearward side of the hollow shut-off tooth or projection as seen in the direction of rotation of the working rotor. An outlet passage extending essentially tangential to the direction of movement of the working rotor conveys working gas.
Abstract:
A pressure valve, especially for rotary piston compressors, which includes a valve housing in the form of a cylindrical sleeve which latter has circumferential through-flow openings or slots which from the inside of the sleeve are covered by a valve closure member comprising resilient lamellae. The valve closure member comprises a pre-bent pre-loaded lattice or grate-shaped metal sheet with parallel longitudinal strips forming the resilient lamellae the ends of which are respectively interconnected by two rim strips. These rim strips rest against both sides of an abutment or counter bearing located opposite the through-flow openings. In the closing position of the valve, the valve closure member tightly engages that inner surface of the sleeve which surrounds the through-flow opening or openings in the sleeve, whereas in the open position of the valve the valve closure member rests against two nearly diametrically oppositely located areas of the inner wall of the sleeve.
