摘要: A rotary internal combustion engine with a rotor body made at least in major part of a first material, including at least one land protruding axially from each of its end faces and defining a contact surface extending at a fixed position with respect to the end faces. The contact surface frictionally engages a portion of the inner surface of the internal cavity of the engine, and at least the outer surface of the land includes a second material. The second material has a greater wear resistance than that of the first material with respect to frictional engagement with the portion of the inner surface of the internal cavity contacting the land. A method of axially positioning a rotor of a rotary engine within an internal cavity of an outer body of the engine are also discussed.

摘要: A rotary fluid machine has an inner rotor and an outer shell held by a stationary support structure, arranged so that sealing points on the inside of the shell interact in a sealing arrangement with the outer surface of the rotor to define working chambers, such that in use the relative motion of the rotor to the shell causes fluid to be moved through ducts in the rotor and rotor shaft, between the working chambers and a point where the rotor shaft interacts with the support structure.

摘要: Durability of a vacuum pump is prevented from degrading by suppressing abrasion of a rotor and a side plate. The vacuum pump has a hollow cylinder chamber S having an opening at an end portion of a casing body, a rotor which is rotationally driven in the cylinder chamber S, a side plate for blocking the opening of the cylinder chamber S, and a pump cover which is disposed at the opposite side to the rotor so as to sandwich the side plate between the pump cover and the rotor, and the side plate is provided with an intercommunication port which confronts a shaft hole of the rotor and intercommunicates with a space between the side plate and the pump cover.

摘要: A scroll pump includes a frame, a stationary plate scroll, an orbiting plate scroll, a non-energized type of tip seal or seals, an eccentric drive mechanism assembled to and supported by the frame and to which the orbiting plate scroll is assembled so as to be drivable by the eccentric drive mechanism in an orbit about a longitudinal axis of the pump, and an axial compliance system including a flexure. The flexure is interposed between a bearing of the eccentric drive mechanism and a flexure-locating surface of the eccentric drive mechanism. The flexure allows the orbiting plate scroll to move away from the stationary plate scroll in the case of an assembly process which would otherwise result in the tip seal(s) being too forcefully engaged with the plate of the opposing plate scroll.

摘要: A variable displacement vane pump includes a rotor, a swingable annular cam ring receiving therein the rotor, a pump body encasing the cam ring and rotor, and a pressure plate which is disposed between an end wall of the pump body and the rotor and which includes a backup surface and a sliding surface formed with an inlet port, an outlet port and a backpressure groove. The vane pump further includes a seal member which is provided between the backup surface of the pressure plate and the end wall of the pump body, and which includes an inlet-side segment extending on the radial inner side of the inlet port and the radial outer side of the backpressure groove, and an outlet-side segment extending on the radial outer side of the outlet port.
