摘要:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for pumping or compressing a fluid, the apparatus characterised by a compression chamber including an inlet and outlet, opposed front and rear vane members disposed inside said compression chamber, each vane member including at least one axially extending vane segment and at least one radially disposed open segment adapted to receive a vane segment of the opposed vane member, wherein adjacent vane segments of mating vane members form radial compartments there between. The assembly further includes a swing arm assembly for effecting equal and opposite rotational oscillation of the front and rear vane members such that adjacent vane segments oscillate toward and away from one another simultaneously, thereby creating a bellowing effect which draws fluid into the chamber via the inlet and discharges fluid out of the chamber via the outlet. The invention further relates to an assembly for translating rotational motion of an input shaft to oscillatory motion of the vane members.

Disclosed herein is a capacity-changing unit of an orbiting vane compressor that is capable of performing normal operation and no-load operation in inner and outer compression chambers through simple manipulation of a rotary valve plate, thereby easily changing the capacity of the compressor according to operation modes. The capacity-changing unit comprises a rotary valve plate disposed between a cylinder and a subsidiary frame for opening or closing a communication channel connected between an inlet port of the cylinder and inner and outer outlet ports of the cylinder as an actuator is rotated in alternating directions. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of reducing power consumption and preventing reduction in service life of the parts of the orbiting vane compressor due to repetitive on/off operation of the orbiting vane compressor, and therefore, improving the performance and reliability of the orbiting vane compressor.

A small sized and structurally simple capacity controller having a wide control range of a compressor with variable capacity adds a differential pressure to an inhalation pressure on an arbitrary level by a piston valve body actuated by a solenoid and by the inhalation pressure. The differential pressure is transmitted into a capacity variation mechanism of the compressor in order to change the capacity of the compressor.

A throttle loss recovery turbine and supercharger device (10) comprises a housing (12) having a movable intake port (36) and a separately movable exhaust port (38). An outer drum is rotatably placed within the housing. An inner drum (24) is rotatably disposed within the housing, and within an inside diameter of the outer drum (18). The inner drum has an axis of rotation (30) eccentric to an axis of rotation of the outer drum, defining a variable volume annular space (26) therebetween. The inner and outer drum are configured to rotate within the housing at a 1:1 ratio with one another, and the intake and exhaust ports are each in air flow communication with some portion of the annular space. A number of vanes (20) are each interposed radially between the inner and outer drums. Each vane is pivotably attached at one end (22) to the outer drum, and is attached at an opposite end to the inner drum. At least one drum is coupled to an engine crankshaft. At low load or idle throttle conditions, the device is operated in a throttle loss mode to transfer rotational energy to the engine, and at high load or wide open throttle conditions the device is operated to produce pressurized air to the engine for subsequent combustion.

An improved capacity modulation system for scroll-type compressors is disclosed in which a valve body of a solenoid valve assembly is secured to the inner wall of the hermetic shell and the actuating coil is mounted on the outer surface thereof. The actuating coil includes a plunger/valve member which cooperates with passages provided in the valve body to selectively actuate the capacity modulation arrangement utilizing compressed fluid. The construction offers the advantage that all fluid pressure lines are located within the hermetic shell and thus protected from potential damage, the solenoid coil may be easily changed/replaced to accommodate different available operating voltages and/or malfunction thereof and the system can be easily tested prior to final welding of the outer shell.

A scroll-type compressor having a capacity modulation system of the delayed suction type is disclosed which incorporates a valving ring rotatably supported on one of the scroll members. Seals are provided acting between the valving ring and scroll member which serve to effect a fluid tight sealing relationship therebetween when the compressor is operating in a full capacity mode thus reducing the need for maintaining tight tolerances during manufacture of the valving ring.

A variable capacity vane compressor uses a linear actuator. The linear actuator is pivotally connected to a valve plate to rotate the valve plate between minimum delivery and maximum delivery positions. The actuator has springs on each end which bias the actuator to an equilibrium position between the full and minimum delivery positions for start up. Control pressure is supplied to one side of the actuator while the other side of the actuator is at intake pressure.

An apparatus for regulating the fluid throughput of a rotary screw compressor from a full capacity operating condition to a desired predetermined capacity operating condition includes a turn valve or spiral valve which is disposed in fluid communication with a low pressure fluid. A stepping motor positions the turn valve in a predetermined orientation. A position sensing means is operably connected to the turn valve. The position sensing means detects the angular orientation of the turn valve. A pressure sensing means detects a compressor service pressure. An electronic control means directs the stepping motor in a predetermined orientation. The electronic control means is independently operable to regulate the fluid throughput of the rotary screw compressor from a full capacity operating condition to a predetermined capacity operating condition in response to the first pressure sensing means.

A variable capacity vane compressor includes a bearing arrangement having a radial bearing radially supporting a drive shaft of the compressor, and a thrust bearing rotatably supporting a capacity control element. The bearing arrangement comprises an annular member fixed in a through hole formed through a side block of the compressor, through which the drive shaft extends. The annular member has an inner peripheral surface in which the radial and thrust bearings are received. The annular member is formed of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion substantially equal to that of a material forming the radial bearing. The thrust bearing has a first race disposed on a side thereof close to a rotor of the compressor, and a second race disposed on a side remote from the rotor. The first race is force-fitted in a through hole formed through the capacity control element and slidably fitted in the inner peripheral surface of the annular member. The first and second races have respective inner peripheral surfaces thereof spaced from an outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft.

A variable capacity vane compressor has a thrust bearing received in an annular recess formed in the inner peripheral surface of a through hole of a side block through which a drive shaft extends. The thrust bearing axially supports a capacity control element for controlling timing of start of compression of refrigerant gas. An annular member is force-fitted in the annular recess to urge one race of the thrust bearing against the side block. Another race of the thrust bearing is slidably fitted in the inner peripheral surface of the annular member. This race is force-fitted in a hole of the capacity control element through which the drive shaft extends. The inner peripheral surfaces of the two races are spaced from the outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft.
