Abstract: A network device for minimizing latency and correcting errors associated with information transmitted from an external memory device. The network device includes a management unit for requesting information stored on at least one external memory device. The network device also includes a command unit for transmitting a request from the management unit to the external memory device. The command unit maintain at least one counter that is associated with current requests and compares the at least one counter to at least one predefined threshold in order to throttle the management unit when the at least one counter exceeds the at least one threshold. Abstract: The present invention is a bolus for an enteral feeding tube, or catheter, that is capable of being used in an over-the-wire intubation procedure as well as other intubation procedures. The bolus has a generally tubular body defining a sidewall, a proximal end tube opening capable of being connected to a distal end of the enteral feeding tube, and a generally rounded terminal end having a flattened tip. The bolus includes a fluid opening within the sidewall of the bolus between the proximal end opening and the terminal end of the bolus. An interior surface of the sidewall opposite the fluid opening is curved and slopes upwardly toward a distal end of the fluid opening. The curved interior surface and the fluid opening configuration allows for fluid flow that approximates the fluid flow rate characteristics of an open-ended tube. The fluid opening is biased toward the terminal end of the bolus thereby defining an elongated collar portion adjacent the proximal end tube opening of the bolus. The terminal end of the bolus has an aperture therethrough that forms a stylet passage in communication with the fluid opening. The stylet passage is sized to allow a stylet to pass therethrough when the tube is used in an over-the-wire intubation procedure.

Abstract: This invention provides prosthesis delivery systems with atraumatic tips that can be dislodged from the catheter so that the catheter can be easily removed from the body after expanding the prosthesis, by pulling the catheter proximally. With the tip dislodged, the catheter, which is of smaller diameter than the tip can be removed even in instances where the prosthesis does not expand the lumen to a large diameter. This invention also provides prosthesis delivery systems with a contoured protective outer sheath having smaller diameters in proximal portions that normally are acutely bent when the system is in the body, than in distal portions corresponding to the position of the prostheses. These systems are more flexible and the sheaths less likely to kink, especially when configured as part of a large delivery system.

Abstract: A one way valve means for incorporation into a fluid administration set for enteral therapy which arrests retrograde movement of fluid into the set to avoid flow rate interruption or, in the event of extreme fluid back pressure, rupturing of the tubing in the set. The one way valve means is responsive to fluid back pressure and is incorporated in a male connector disposed on a distal end of the administration set tubing. Abstract: Apparatus for peeling sausages comprises means for feeding a chain of sausages in the longitudinal direction of the chain towards a pair of counterrotating rollers defining between them a roller nip located in the plane of symmetry between the rollers. The feeding means causes the leading end of each sausage in succession to meet the roller surfaces on either side of the plane of symmetry and at an obtuse angle to the longitudinal direction of the nip.
